My New Project

Post by Mammothstuds »

Hello, all. Mammothstuds here.
I've finally settled down on a project. It's one I've been wanting to make for a while, and now that I finally have the tools to pull it off semi-decently, I'm going to get down to work.

Here's a little teaser. Stay tuned.

Looks nice. Hope you stick with it.

What are your plans for it? What is it?

It's a monster-collecting game called Mirrored Soul. Mirrored Soul Gaiden was actually supposed to be a prequel to it.

Anyway, here's the first map of the game.

Really cool graphics. They are simple but very eye catching and they seem to build a unique world of their own.

The perspective on that intro scene looks great! One problem. It took be a while to realise, but the center stripe on the road is enormous.

BTW, there's a tool to export images of maps: http://rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce ... rtographer
However someone reported a problem with it and Sephy hasn't packaged the latest version yet; hopefully it still works in general.

Nightly builds also have the ability to record gifs.

This is insanely helpful, actually. Thanks.

PROGRESS!

This is the second map of my game - and the first where a significant event happens.

Also, I composed the game's main overworld theme. https://soundcloud.com/iwilldevouryourkittens/alleycat

I think I enjoy detective stories more easily than the standard hero's adventure fare; they're much more flexible and less predictable.

That track is fantastic!

That track is banging. I like the bass.
The screenshots look cool too! I really dig that style
