**Plot**
The game starts inside a house. The hero 'Pointdexter' and his cat prepare for Halloween. They plan to celebrate it by watching horror movies. They are disturbed by an evil necromancer who eats the hero's cat. Angry Pointdexter decides to battle the necromancer and dresses up as knight.
Soon the hero meets a sorceress, a wolf-girl called Diana. They from a team to fight the necromancer - and also a bunch of Halloween creatures including: slimes dressed up as pumpkins, zombies, ghosts, scarecrows.
At the graveyard Pointdexter and Diana fight a ghost, DOO, who becomes the third party member.
The three travel to a dark area, maybe a swamp? To cross a bridge they fight a crocodile, an interesting character. The next enemy seems to be a werewolf.
In the tunnels that lead to the castle is a lab inhabited by mad scientists.
The castle map was a bit buggy. After opening a large red door, the heroes have to fight a team of the heros' doppelgenger before they face the necromancer.
**Bravo! Great Design!**
I really liked:
- - the ghost enemies!
- the friendly slime! Great idea!
- the use of 'thou' and other old-sounding words when the hero is acting like a knight.
- the music tracks were nicely diverse.
- battles were fast
- the cafe as an inn = cool idea.
- short cuts! Hurray for that geat idea!
- the battle against the doppelganger!
- - Diana and DOO have no image, shown in the stats-screens. But the hero has one.
- There could be a border added to the water, the lake looks quite like a square.
- There's a person who does not talk in the cafe.
- Diana seems pretty weak compared to Ghost and Pointdexter.
- In the castle I could walk through enemies and items. Maybe there's a bug with the map layers? Also one could walk throug walls (black area)
- some battles felt to easy (Frankenstein's monster + doppelganger)
The cast of characters was funny and there were some unexpected plot twits.
Battles were fast and fun as well, attacks have different effects and enemies different weaknesses, items could be used.
So all in all, playing "Necromancer Ate My Cat" was really fun.
