Nice work putting that list together. I note that you called the Winter 2008 list "Winter 2007".

I've had an extensive look around and discovered that a few of the Top 30 lists which JSH ran between 2004 and 2007 and hosted on his website which were thought to be lost are in fact on archive.org afterall (sometimes there's stuff on archive.org which there doesn't appear to be because it's not linked to from any archived page). I've checked, and these three are the only additional lists on archive.org for www.cp-games.org/~jsh/ or www.jsh.illuminative.org

Summer 2004 (voting thread)

Fall 2004 (voting thread?)

Winter 2005 (voting thread)

Spring 2005 is lost (was here)
(voting thread)

Summer 2005 is lost (was here) (voting thread)

Fall 2005 is lost (voting thread)

I think that's also a complete list of lost lists. If you really wanted, you could tally all the public votes to recreate them. Voter turnout back then was higher.

There were some private votes in those polls back in the day, but I know I can't dig them all up as some were in IRC

Those results sure were weird back in the day. I don't remember Thanksgiving Quest being THAT popular. Then again half the other games on those old polls were joke games.

TQ was a smash when it came out. I got so many comments and so much discussion about it, was crazy. Didn't last too long in the end.

I actually tried to word my reply to not imply it was a joke game. Oh well.

It's stupid enough to be called half joke game at least, so I wouldn't be offended either way. But yeah, the core game has a bit too much depth to call it a traditional joke game.

Kinda odd that TQ comes up after I recently re-play OHR house. XD

Oh there was actually a TQ retrospective; I'd forgotten that. Eh, I think I'll stick with good memories and just keep voting it up in Top 30 polls (but maybe a bit less so).

Oh.. huh.

Just for the record, I think Sword of Jade: Parallel Dreams and Sword of Jade 2 are actually the same game (soj as well).

Pitch Black is also listed twice in the polls.
