Sharn stops flooding the burning building and brings the bucket back in, splashing the teens as she does.
Sharn casually leaves the scene regardless of any further happenings. She heads back to the fire brigade guild hall.

Cece's heart is torn, conflicted by the desire to correct this shameful misinformation (how foolish it makes everyone look!) and the desire to take part in it. The latter half wins out, and she slowly makes her way through the crowd, insinuating herself into conversations.

"I 'eard thees.. Arcane Firefighters came an' 'elped everyone to safety" she says, sticking her head between two older ladies shaking out their aprons.

"The executioners, pfft... They try an' take credeet, bu' eet was the new fire fighters who save the day." she conspires to a group of children in an out of the way corner, one foot on their ball until she's finished her statement.

"They carry shiny buckets an' all of them are full of water. Where does eet come from? 'ow come they only use eet on fires?" she says, playing dumb for the porters as they walk by.

"Such a beeg fire! An' no one ees hurt. No thanks to man who run tha' place, he ees more eenterested in takeeng money than giveeng safe place to leeve. Keep your money an' leeve in a dumpster, you be better off!" ..wait, hadn't she already bothered these kids? There's gotta be a faster way to disperse information. She starts sniffin around for a better venue, and with the delicious smells swirling around, a place to tell the story in exchange for a good meal.

Normin

"Ah, excellent question!" says Instructor Vulgate. "You don't need precise full names like you might for a magical contract. Nicknames will work, as long as they aren't too ambiguous. You can also add descriptives, if you wish."

"For example, if one of your members goes by the name 'Joseph The Human', you could write 'Joseph The Human, Son of Timothy, who slew the Ogre of Taldor' since you wouldn't want every random human named Joe to be able to walk in here."

One of the students pipes up "Assuming you write small; We made it so each name has to fit on one line!" Vulgate frowns slightly at him before returning her gaze to Normin.

Kailyn

As the door clicks closed behind Kailyn, the man at the desk stands up.

Mr Von Telematon is over 7 feet tall. He is a dragonborn, with glossy black scales. He is wearing a fashionable but oversized brown coat stretched over his white armor. The coat is emblazoned with the Axe-Over-Crown symbol of the Executioners, but his armor has a spiral-shaped holy symbol on it.

He smiles at Kailyn, and extends a huge hand for a handshake.

"Pleased to meet you, Count Kailyn Kandel! I am Arctor Von Telematon, Chief Detexecutioner. I was just planning to pay your Guild a visit in the morning, you have saved me a trip."

He has a gentle rumbling friendly voice.

Arcadia

Arcadia takes her leave and heads home. She gets back to the Hallow family estate without incident. It is early evening time now.

A few people she passes in Granary hill are looking at the smoke and talking about it, but most people are going about their normal business, heading home from school, home from work.

The house stands silent and forlorn, looking just a tiny bit run-down next to its better-kept neighbors. The dark windows of the second floor look especially bleak.

Cassia is preparing a cold meal with the small amount of food left in the pantry.

Cassius does not appear to be around at the moment, as far as Arcadia can see.

Sharn
stealth check at disadvantage wrote:min(d20+DEX+prof) = min(10, 4) + 2 + 0 = 6 = FAIL!

(The disadvantage is for the fact that Sharn was just doing something super-conspicuous on a roof-top)

(Any player still in the street (Evangeline, Ebald, Petrol) can choose to notice Sharn as she goes past)
Sharn tries to slip away. She hurries down the steps, and takes advantage of the high level of chaos to head back towards the headquarters, but halfway there she realizes that two of the teens are following her from a distance. It is the polite girl, and one of the boys. They are both still soaking wet.

Up ahead, Sharn can see that the headquarters door is open, and that multiple people are inside.

Cece

Cece wages a one-woman public relations campaign.
4 performance checks wrote:d20+CHA+Prof =
13+3+0=16=Success!
4+3+0=7=Fail!
14+3+0=17=Success!
11+3+0=14=Success!
Not everyone listens, but Cece seems to be changing the tone of the conversation-- at least for the people she reaches.

She looks for a place to tell her story in exchange for a meal.

The busier kitchens might not appreciate the intrusion...

The queue of Cook's Guild porters have already heard half of what she has to say...

The young wizards in the University Satellite Campus Tent might be interested, but might not have such nice food to share....

Or she could backtrack out of the Smokefields into one of the other districts. Plenty of bars and taverns in the Poor Quarter, or nicer public establishments in Marketday or Temple Hill.

Caldon
DM wrote:You didn't specify if Caldon was headed for his own apartment in Temple hill, or the Morgensen estate where his wife and son are staying (which I'll say is in the very best part of Granary Hill, right next to Old Bakak) so I am going to assume that he is going to the apartment for his shower.
Caldon heads back to his apartment in Temple Hill. The taller buildings there hide a lot of the sky, so many people are only now noticing the relatively near-by column of smoke and steam. People are gossiping about it in the street.

Caldon gets a hot meal at a restaurant on the ground floor of the building where his apartment is. Selections range from 2 silver to 8 silver, depending on fancyness.

He overhears a Cook's Guild porter talking to the Maitre D'. "...Yeah, some big building burned to the ground. I saw the smoke on my way here. It was pretty close. Must be just on the wrong side of the Unburning."

"How dreadful! Do you think it is spreading?" says the Maitre D', alarmed.

"Naw, I heard the firefighters guild stopped it. Supposedly they all carry shiny buckets that are always full of water. Don't know where it comes from. I wonder how come they only use it on fires?"

Evangeline, Ebald, Petrol
DM wrote:I don't know if you folks are coming back or not, but your characters are still in the street near the burning building, so this is what they see.
Sergeant Gogol and his executioners continue with crowd control. The flames are quelled, but the top floor is still smoldering soggily.

After a while, another executioner (the one that some of your saw much earlier) returns. He is dragging a bound and manacled orc after him. Both of them look badly beaten up. The executioner has a lot of blood on his face, apparently his own, and the orc looks only semi-concious. He reports to Sargent Gogol, and hands over his prisoner.

Soon a few more executioners arrive in a wagon, and they load the Red-bearded dwelf Landlord, the screaming green-skinned peg-legged man, and the semi-concious orc into the wagon and drive off with them.

The crowd of now semi-homeless people cheer at this, and many of them seem especially happy that the landlord is being taken away.

Gogol approaches Evangeline, Ebald, and Petrol, and explains to them; "We are taking the three suspects into custody. Would one of you be willing to come to the Great Courthouse in Old Bakak tomorrow and enter a statement into the record about your Guild's part in today's events?"

The executioners seem to be making similar requests of other witnesses.

Some people are filtering away, perhaps going to crash at friends or relatives. Others linger and seem to be setting up camp in the street, while others are cautiously probing the first floor of their building. Nothing else has collapsed yet, and it seems like a sizable contingent want to go back in and get started cleaning things up inside already.

Before he could let himself become relieved, Normin is already re-stressing his memory to recall the names of the others and quick descriptive notes.

Normin, a seemingly walking hat with a gnome underneath
Cece, an elven woman carrying a thick accent
Sharn, an orc woman
Kailyn, a tiefling with status
Caldron and Ebald, human warriors
Petrol, a halfling
Evangeline, a lady songstress
Arcadia, elven priestess

He does his best not to let himself get too offended about the small writing remark at least while lacking a decent come back.

Kailyn performs a deep bow, then rights himself and takes the man's hand, shaking it before saying:

"And I am doubly pleased to meat you, Sir Telematon. And I must say, your guild-house is most impressive, as are all of your guild members whom I have had the greatest delight in meeting. Though I did not know you would be planning to do so, I am humbled that one as important as you would visit our humble little guild. That said though, I did come to you to speak to you regarding a matter that concerns both of our guilds."

Kailyn dramatically waves an arm out, as if gesturing to the entire city.

"This is a marvelous city, one full of potential and greatness, and I am most honored and humbled to serve it as a member of the firefighter's guild. However, with all of the arson and petty lawlessness that can be seen in the city, I only wish I could do more. To that end, ashamed though I am to say it, I am attempting to use my status for the betterment of the city. I am planning to organize a little get-together, involving your fine guild, the new arcane firefighters, and the top-crust nobility of the city. With luck, I hope to gather funds and support, both monetary and political, that our two guilds may put to good use in serving the city. I came then, to ask you your thoughts on the matter, and who you would wish to draw from your guild to aid me in organizing this little affair."

OOC: Does Kailyn know anything about the holy symbol? If it matters, his Religion bonus is +3.

Also, if either matter:
Insight: +4
Persuade: +5

Arcadia greets Cassia and hands her the money she received from the Fire Brigade. She asks her to buy some food with it and pay any due bills if there's any money left. ((Unless I had to go back to get paid? I forget. ))

Normin

As Normin finishes writing each name, the text changes, transforming from his own handwriting to a blocky text that looks like it came out of a printing press.

"Excellent," says Vulgate. "Now let me show you the guest page." She flips to another page with a small bookmark in it. It bears a list of about 15 names;
Guest Page wrote: Iris Vulgate, Instructor of The University Of Bakak 3:24
Erica Jehovah, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Peace Elgar, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Nader Congolese, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
O'Connell Pawnee, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Mack Bayonne, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
McCall Malinda, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Zwingli Odessa, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Cayuga Donna, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Amoco Urumqi, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Tucker Yonkers, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Bryce Vitim, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Yeager McQueen, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Syriac McCullough, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Peshawar Punch, Student of the University of Bakak 3:24
Before Vulgate can begin explaining the guest page, the floor of the room begins to glow and flash red

A harsh but ethereal voice booms

"UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS DETECTED"

"UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS HAVE ONE MINUTE TO EXIT THE PREMISES OR FACE PUNISHMENT"

(Sharn can hear this from where she is approaching outside)

Vulgate looks around at her students. "Who else is in the building right now?" she asks. Her voice betrays irritation, but then realization seems to dawn on her face. "Normin, did you include all the members already? Are the two women upstairs on the list? They told me they were firefighter's guild members and they smelled like smoke."

Kailyn

Arctor Von Telematon takes in Kailyn's words. He seems pleased.

"Wonderful!" says Arctor. "I was worried that her Mayorship was going to half-slime this whole business, but it seems like she has put someone competent and motivated in charge. I only heard about the new Guild yesterday, so I am happy that you are being so proactive."

"I think co-ordination between our guilds will definitely be productive. We have been trying to beef up our fire-preparedness since The Tragic Fire, but it is a bit outside our wheelhouse. Now, what do you have in mind for this gathering?"

Kailyn recognizes the spiral holy symbol as that of the Reformed Seekers of Rest

<img src="https://i.imgur.com/MfmBJDg.png">

You know that the Reformed Seekers of Rest is a fairly popular religion in the city. You have heard that the Mayor is a member. You don't know anything about their god or their theology, but you know they have a nice big temple in Old Bakak. There isn't anything sexy or fashionable about them, so they don't get mentioned much at the type of parties that Kailyn usually attends. Maybe they have a reputation for charitable work with the poor or something like that?

Arcadia

Cassia looks at the money with a mixture of joy and dread. "Oh! My lady!... You didn't take another loan out, did you?" Cassia immediately looks embarrassed for asking her Lady a question like this.

Cassia serves the meal she had been preparing. It is quite good. Cassia is talented at making what little food they have taste its best.

Cassia seems nervous, even more so than seems appropriate for having asked an impertinent question. She sticks close to Arcadia, and seems to be waiting to hear where the money came from, but she doesn't seem to want to ask outright.

sorry been busy
Possibilities bounce around Cece's head. She briefly finds herself headed towards the Marketday district.. but since when do they care about anyone but themselves? The poor quarter would be better. Mugs of beer and pats on the back, toasted bread stuffed full of those spicy goat shavings that get stuck to the inside of the pot. Sympathy for the plight of the average man. The elf girl smiles to think that songs might even be raised in honor of the heroes of the day. Singing and dancing.. NO! What if someone remembers?! Not the poor quarter, not tonight.

The kitchens! Poor guys probably don't even know there was a fire. Cooking food for everyone else. They're the real heroes! And what kind of hero would deny another a hero a little snack? It'd be a disgrace to the little guy everywhere, that's what it'd be. She sets off for the kitchens, to figure out how best to break the news.

Not wanting to face foes on two fronts, Sharn spins around on the tag alongs. "Why are you following me?" she asks. Watch their hands, they might pull out a weapon, says the voice in Sharn's head. Sharn gets in battle ready position. Her eyes narrow dangerously.

Evangeline faces Gogol with certainty.

"I'll go and give my statement of today's events. I don't know how much help my statement will be, but I'll happily give it."

With that, Evangeline decides to mosey back towards her home, perhaps taking in the sights along the way.

"Oh, nothing too complex. I have an associate of mine working out the details as to the location the little get-together will be held. I plan to get everyone talking to one another, that is our two guilds, the government, and the old-money nobles of the city. With luck, we'll be able to raise funds that we can put to use bettering the city. I know certainly that my guild is a bit... under-equipped, and we could use that money to improve our capability in fighting these terrible fires. I have no set date yet though, and as you are no doubt a busy man, perhaps you could appoint an official liaison who will work with me in coordinating things between our guilds? I encountered Executioner Delphi earlier, and she seemed up to the task, what with knowing the lay of the land, so to speak, as well as having a strong work ethic."
