The door opens to reveal a slimy room. Most of the floor of this room is covered with a slimy green goo. The only part not so covered is a small four-foot-square stone platform raised 2' off the floor, located against the east wall. Cemented to the platform is a stone chest shaped like a 3' cube. The entire ceiling is a dull black.

"Yes... this looks like a spectacularly bad idea..."
Kalar closes the door and opens the next one.

The dimensions of this room resemble the slimy room. This room however is completely filled with a mass of giant spider webs. The webs quiver at your presence.

Kalar's hands go cold and clammy at the sight of the quivering spider webs.
He thinks to himself, "Spiders, of all things, why spiders?"
He struggles to get his phobia of spiders under control and stops himself from completely losing it.
As calmly as possible, he takes a flask of alchemist's fire from his pack, readies it, and then chucks it into the center of the room before slamming the door shut as quickly as he can.
...
With the door now shut and the immediate threat of spiders not readily visible, he realizes that perhaps that was not the wisest of actions, and thinks that maybe he had let his fear get the better of him.

Horrible screeches echo out from the webbed room. Sounds of large creatures scampering around can be heard. Then, a large thud on the other side of the door. Then another. It seems something is trying to break through.

Realizing that he'd made a horrible mistake because of his fear of spiders, Kalar jumps into action. He takes the silk rope he'd used earlier and uses it to tie the door handle of the spider room to the door handle of the slime room as tightly as he can. Hopefully, this will anchor the door in place, preventing it from opening.
As an extra precaution, he spreads some caltrops in front of the spider door to damage anything going through.

Visions back?! Great!
Now that he had his vision back, he realized how stupid he must have looked. Arden noticed Kalar investigating the doors, and realized there must be dangerous things behind them. He quickly rushes back to the foyer to grab the lone halberd, and returns.
Arden decides to keep an eye on the door making awful noises, ready to attack if something bursts out of it.

Seeing the fighter with the halberd, Kalar begins to regain some of his previous composure. He takes a few breaths to steady himself, trying to convince himself that the spiders don't have a hope of breaking through before the flames consume them.
"Ah, well done in getting that halberd. If you don't mind though, I'll take my shield back, seeing as how you need two hands to use that weapon."

Give up the spike shield? Sure, why not.
"Alright, you can have the shield back. You're probably gonna need it more than what I do."

Kalar barricades the door. Then, the door cracks and a large spider arm bursts through. It thrashes around blindly, nearly scratching Kalar as he ties up the door.
Galse and Silas look on in amazement as Arden flees and Kalar wrestles with the door. They almost act, until Arden returns and returns them to a state of semi-ease. Seeing his presence as a reason to not have to fight.

Spider arm! Eech!
"Look out!" Arden says, raising his halberd, and then bringing it down onto the thrashing arm in an attempt to sever it.

Realizing that things are definitely not going well, Kalar focuses quietly, trying to overcome his fear.
"There's nothing for it then." he says.
Then, without warning, he lets out a battlecry, letting his anger take over his normally rational self.
Of course, he does retain enough of his mind to make sure to place Areden in front of him so that the spiders get to him first. He raises his shield, ready to go on the defensive as his fear will probably not be too effective.

Arden slashes into the spider's arm. It slices cleanly off and the screeching from before returns. Several thuds follow against the door.

Great, the spider retreated...left behind it's arm though. Ardan has plans for that later...when it stops twitching, though.
He prepares his weapon and says "Get ready! They're not done yet!"

Kalar waits for something to happen, not quite sure what he'll do if it does.
