Kalar looks over Azderac's wounds, running his hands over the afflicted areas and examining him further while muttering a few words to himself. He then turns to the two dragons and says:
"The two of you have powerful magic at your command, is there anything you can do for this one?"

The dragons looked at each other questioningly. "No, I don't have any such powers." Responded the silver dragon.
"Nor I," answered the gold dragon.
"I might have an answer," spoke Dan, appearing out of no where. "I have in my possession two scrolls that can raise the dead. I've failed when attempting to use them in the past though."

"Very well, hand them over, I can make use of them. We will have to slay him first though, and then bring him back for such to work. However, I would rather not resort to such means if anyone else has some other method to negate whatever this is that's affecting him?"

The group shrugged.

Rob clears his throat, and begins to sing Song Of Freedom
Azzy was one of the biggest jerks,
Averoigne ever knew,
But he was strong in magical works,
At least that much is true.
And now that he's down and dripping black slime,
we realize we liked him around,
Though we're in a hurry and might not have time,
we hope that a cure can be found.
If this is a curse (and it might be a curse)
Then maybe this song has a chance,
to break that ol' curse for better or worse,
and revive mister Arch-bishop-pants...

Azedarac died as Rob sang as did the others still laying on the ground. Lynda's horse turned to smoke and was gone.

"Oops!" Rob frowns. "Were my lyrics really that bad?"

Harvey wonders to Kalar, the resident death and undeath expert, at the sudden demise of all the wounded victims.. "Should we worry about that?" he says, nodding to the assortment of death rattles and last gasps. "And what about the uhh..." he stumbles for the word and pantomimes a face of agony and stuff rolling down his chin "that's not going to bring them back or something, is it? 'cause the next room's full of fire and well... cremation is considered a sign of respect in many cultures..." plus it'd be kinda funny. Better not say that last part. Harvey just smirks.

"Very well."
Kalar takes one of the scrolls and activates it, bringing the man back. After he does so, he keeps his hands over the wounds, chanting and sending divine energy into him.

While using the scroll, Kalar feels a very firm tug. It seems to come from no where at all. Suddenly, Kalar could see Azedarac. Rather, it was Azedarac's soul. It's ghostly form stood on on a massive pillar of stone overlooking a fiery pit. Hundreds of bodies fell from the dark sky all around. Kalar held Azedarac's hand. Something dark was wrapped around the leg of Azedarac's soul. It was pulling him down.
Meanwhile, everyone standing around Kalar witnessed his eye's fade to white. He was grabbing at nothing and pulling it with all his might. He seemed to be being dragged by whatever unknown force he was battling.
As suddenly as it started, the struggle stopped. Kalar was back with the others and Azedarac seemed to be breathing. Though still stained by the black ooze, Azedarac seemed to no longer be oozing from the eyes nose and mouth and seemed otherwise no longer afflicted by the curse.
Kalar rushed to aid Azedarac further and after only a few moments Azedarac awoke and said in a loud startled voice, "We must hurry, he may already know how to break the curse!"

"Very well, let's be off. Those of you who are well-versed in melee combat, to the front. Archers behind them, followed by myself, Azderac, and any other spellcasters. The dragons will bring up the rear. My undead shall take the flanks to provide a buffer should we be attacked. The two carnexes shall stay at the front."

Harvey ignores the tactical advice and sticks near the front to keep an eye open for pitfalls, snares, evil magic buttons and any other trickeration this place might have ready. Gotta imagine the guys who built it are more devious than that old furrier.. and he was pretty devious. "If I say STOP, everybody stop. Got it?"
And if no one's in a hurry to take the lead, Harvey'll go first without 'em. Time is of the essence! There's a lot of material on the material plane, and the sneaky little fellow has always considered himself a man of material needs.

"Wait, Harvey. If you're going to take the lead, then take this minor blessing, it's not much, but it may help."
Kalr takes out his holy symbol, and it begins to glow. He then touches a hand to Harvey causing the light to pass to him from Kalar.
Ability Used: Imbue with Spell Ability (from Divine Disciple)
Harvey can now use the following three spells once each:
Obscuring Mist
Sanctuary (Lasts for 13 rounds)
Hold Person (DC 20)

The group cautiously followed Kalar's and Harvey's lead. No other swarms of bugs stirred in the fiery room and soon the group could see intot he next room where the silvered manticore had emerged from.
In this room, several dozen slime covered eggs sat around. They all seemed like they had hatched. Also in the room where 2 more doors, makign three doors total if one were to count the door the group was looking in through. One door led south, the other east.
"Go south from here," muttered Azedarac. Then to himself he said, "I don't remember there being eggs..."

"Very well."
Kalar directs two of his skeletons to open the door indicated by Azderac while he gets ready for whatever might come through.
Do Kalar's goggles detect anything living in the room?
