"Rob, the beholder said they don't speak Common.. I'll try to translate for you. I'll take the infernal, someone take the abyssal."
Harvey clenches his teeth together to produce the proper hisses and snaps of the wicked tongue as he repeats the message to the rider, who looks like a kython and quacks like a kython: "Can't you understand? This man says..." and then he says word for word what Rob said, trying to give it the same inflection.

Lynda draws her bow, but hesitates to see how the creature will react to Rob and Harvey calling out to it in strange languages.

The screeching stopped. As did the sound of the manticore's wings flapping. This took place just as the elven unicorn rider finished a spell. The kython's response to Harvey and Rob was inaudible yet clear as a tail spike shot out and struck Wren the nude dwarf. Wren fell to the ground, black ooze flowing from his nose, eyes, and mouth.
The time for hesitation was over. Kalar's suggestion fell on deft ears and he cursed the resilience of the beast and it's rider. Lynda's and the box weild inquisitor's arrows struck true, but seemed only mildly effective against the creature's bulk. The beholder shot a green ray at the kython that blasted off a segment of it's arm. It silently howled in pain. Azedarac's deep black magical bolts hit the beast then. The manticore shuddered. Dan and the silver dragon, having seen Azedarac attack, gave each other a nod. The silver dragon began building up air in it's lungs as it peered around the corner at the mounted kython.
The swarms began to enter the room then. One part of the swarm went north the other went south. The tall chain wielding inquisitor was swarmed, as was Kalar and a few of his undead minions. The swarm quickly burned into the skin of the inquisitor. He seemed to be in an immense amount of pain. 2 of Kalar's skeletons burst into flames as the swarm overcame them. Kalar himself could feel several of the bugs beneath his skin. It felt as if they were everywhere.

Harvey re-focuses himself and lets loose another arrow, this time aiming at the Kython. "What's wrong with our nudist? Didn't he say he was gonna take care of the bugs?! I got potions if someone knows what'd help!"

Rob spurs Stumpy to a quick dashing gallop, and leans down to scoop up the body of Wren, and move him safely out of the line of fire.
Rob suspects that the nude dwarf is already dead, but on the off chance that he can be saved, it would be good to move him out of the line of fire

Kalar flails against the bugs, then activates his boots and teleports behind both the swarm and the manticore. From there, he readies his blade to strike should the need arise.

Kalar teleported away from the swarm, leaving his undead to suffer their continued assault. The tall man did his best to fly away from the swarm but had been badly hurt by the time he escaped. His wounds looked bad. Kalar's undead shifted at their current locations, looking to Kalar for orders.
Rob dashed in and with some fancy riding, was able to scoop up Wren mid-dash. "Good plan, son. I'll assist in collecting the fallen so they are not lost forever. I can keep them safe in an extra-dimensional space I've prepared," said Dan. Then, Dan vanished.
"Bring that one over here," said the elf on the unicorn to Rob. "I believe I can help." The the unicorn rode up to Rob and Stumpy then. At the same time, two kobolds and a large frog jumped off the unicorn, seemingly out of no where.
The silver dragon released it's deadly breath. It masterfully shaped it's breath to target the majority of the swarm. The bugs frozen to death. Most of the swarm had been destroyed.
A spine shot in. It struck the beholder who then rolled over in the air, gushed black ooze from it's many tiny eyes as well as it's massive center eye.
Harvey and the inquisitor archer both shot the Kython rider. It looked badly hurt and spent it's time tending to it's own wounds. Another spine shot in, striking the inquisitor archer, who fell and gushed black ooze.
With all her might, Lynda tossed a fur ball forward. It burst into a large warhorse. It stood in the doorway, looking confused.
Azedarac joined Kalar on the bridge behind the manticore and readied a deep black lance, aiming it towards the flying beast.

Kalar focuses on his holy symbol, then unleashes it in a burst at the manticore and the rider, bathing them both in divine light.
He then calls out to his undead, ordering them to all hurl their missiles at ones he illuminated. He also calls out to the Jims to start healing all of the other undead.

Rob offers the body of Wren to the unicorn rider. "What is your name?" he asks
"RUN, FRIEND, RUN!" shouts Stumpy to Lynda's confused warhorse. Stumpy has been watching those manticore spines, he knows they are bad news.

Harvey stomps angrily and yells to the rider: "QUIT TRYING TO DRINK WHEN I'M TRYING TO KILL YOU!" and lets off another barrage.. at this point, it's really the only strategy.

Stumpy watched in horrible as the horse new comer was pierced by one of the deadly spines from the manticore villain. Black ooze gushed from it's eyes, nose, ears, and mouth as it collapsed to the ground.
At that moment, the unicorn placed it's horn on Wren, the nude dwarf. The oozing stopped. Wren awoke and looked around, confused. "What happened?" he asked as he got down from Rob's horse. He looked to be in normal health.
"Nerroth the Gifted," answered the elven maiden. "Though, this doesn't seem like the time for introductions."
Noticed by only a few, the headless body of the orc paladin vanished. Meanwhile, the kobolds and frog seemed to do nothing at all.
The tall inquisitor with the spiked chain took out a wand and a flurry of snowballs dashed into some of the remaining bug swarms. The last remaining group swarmed the horse summoned by Lynda as it oozed on the ground.
Lynda, Harvey, and Kalar's many undead minions, enhanced by Kalar's spell, managed to score direct hits with their ranged attacks. The pair of villains seemed to be getting weak. Things were looking up.
The unicorn was hit then. As it gushed from the the face, the elven rider dismounted with a quiet fury so strong all those around her could feel the tension. The silver dragon posed itself to pounce on the manticore. The elven lady took a similiar pose, though she looked out of sorts on all fours. A small amount of fire fluttered out of her mouth.
At that moment, a nasty black spear struck the manticore and the rider. Azedarac managed to kill the rider with his spear. The manticore fell to the ground, clearly injured but still very much alive.

Stumpy weeps
Rob quickly dismounts, and tries to push the fallen unicorn's head down while lifting one hoof up to try and make the unicorn's horn touch its own leg. He is not at all sure that the magic of the horn actually works that way, but it seems worth a try.
