"I see," said the lead horseman. "Ok, you are welcome into town. However, know that the eyes of the Marshals are upon you. Chaz here will accompany you through out your time in town."
Rob and Harvey both noticed that the other horseman, Chaz, gave the lead horseman an odd look as he assigned him to this task. Rob had never heard of something like this, but his time spent in this town was very limited. He seemed to follow along in any case and rode his horse to align with Stumpy. He gave a polite nod to the party as he did.
With that, the other horseman left and the party was somewhat free to explore the town up ahead. There weren't many stalls near the entrance to town, but they offered some of the best looking plum based products the kingdom had to offer. Plum wine, plum baked goods, plum jam and just plain plums were all present in abundance.

"I don't mind guard accompaniment. Being a noblewoman, I'm accustomed to having guard escorts with me." Lynda says nonchalantly. "Though I hope you don't mind being stuck with us, Mr. Guard."
"Though, I don't enjoy the fact we're going to be under watch by the town..." She thinks. "Good thing we all tend to behave in towns, though I'm not so sure about Harvey or upkeeping Rachelle's condition...and then there's the fact that Kalar will be making an appearance at some point, perhaps...how bothersome. For now, all I can do is act ditzy, sheltered and pretend I know a thing about being royal."
Lynda clasps her hands together.
"Now then, time to venture about. I'm going to see what this place offers in the way of wares, and perhaps converse with the locals."
With that, Lynda will look around town to see what the shops offer, and perhaps gossip with the locals about the town, current events, and anything else that comes up.

Chaz shrugs at Harvey's question of danger. Chaz does not seem to talk much as the party goes about town. Lynda is quickly out of sight of him and the rest of the party and Harvey seems to be breaking off a bit in search of lamb, which he thinks he may have spotted in the form of a butcher's shop down the road.
Lynda scampers around town, almost aimlessly. She saw a small number of stores. The town seemed to have almost nothing in the way of weapons, armor, or other adventuring items. A general store seemed to have things such as rope, rations, and 10ft poles, but nothing of note to be found. Then Lynda came across a walking staff store. From the road, Lynda spotted three of the most well made walking sticks she had ever seen. It was a very small store, almost the size of a long closet. However, behind the counter hung what Lynda could only assume were three magical staves. Their craftsmanship was top notch, and the sign next to them reading, Not for Sale, suggested a hefty price if Lynda was going to buy one.

Harvey found the butcher's shop to be quite bloody. The butcher did not seem to keep a clean shop. He was standing behind the counter carving up a boar as Harvey walked in. The butcher offered no greeting and there was no mutton was to be seen.
Chaz led the others through town. They passed by two nice looking taverns as Chaz led them to what must be a nice place. They arrived as what looked to be a large house. Tables and chairs were set around outside. The party sat and someone came and brought them bread. The sun was setting and the view from their seats was nice. Rob did manage to spot a shadowy figure flying in the distance towards town from where he sat. It seemed that no one else had noticed.
Lynda wandered around a bit more and what she thought was a sort of meeting hall at first turned out to be a massive smithy. Inside she found all sorts of armor and shields. Lots of the armor seemed to be magical, but Lynda couldn't be sure. The amount of protective gear choices was too much to take in all at once.
Kalar had reached the town. He stood about 1000ft out, well away from the local farmers and began to plan.

Rob leans to Rachelle and whispers "I think I may have spotted Kalar flying in... at least, I hope it was Kalar"
In a louder voice he says, "The bread smells wonderful! But I don't want to fill up. I am saving room for the main course! Chaz, are you joining us? Sit down! Order anything you want, it is on me, and may I say thank you for being our guide while we are visiting your fine town. I really do appreciate it!"

The lack of lamb is disappointing but.. "Boar, lamb whatever it is, this... is art, hehehe!" Harvey will buy enough meat for a decent dinner and breakfast, assuming this guy actually sells meat and doesn't just cut it for a visceral thrill. And then he'll slip back to the party... not quite sneaking but not quite bringing attention to himself either. Just seeing what they do. Something in the air.. something's not right here. Not enough wrong, either!

Kalar decides to stay in the woods for now. Someone looking like he does will have a much better chance of getting into town in the light of day rather than the dark of night. Instead, he'll stay in the woods with Jim, Jehan, and the mule. In the morning, he can try getting into the town, leaving Jim behind and out of sight.
While he's at it though, he'll see if he can spot the town's graveyard from where he is.

"I'm still in search for a way to get my holy symbol." Lynda thinks. "Ideally, I'd like to find someone who could modify some of my jewelry, either my hairclip, bracelet, or even create a simple necklace. Though, given my appearance, I don't know how they'll react to being requested to make a red skull, or a skull over a fireball..."
Lynda will wander around some more. When it gets fairly late, she'll try to find the rest of the party.

The food was amazing. After so many nights of roughing it, this fancy meal was just what the party needed. The sun set as dessert came. A modest sized cake topped with sliced plums.
After dinner, Harvey returned to gather his order. The gruff butcher seemed to appreciate the way Harvey did business, was seen in his crocked smile as he handed him his order.
Lynda spent the whole time shopping around. She was able to find a smith that specialized in crafting small things such as holy symbols and had him get started on it right away.
Kalar looked around town from the edges more and more as the sun set. The graveyard sat about 1/4th of a mile from town down a dark gloomy road. There didn't seem to be anyone there at all.
Chaz lead the party back to a large INN next. Inside, the party came across several "working" girls and men.

Rob looks around for the Innkeeper. He wants to ask permission to perform some songs in the Inn's common room before he goes to bed. He has a few plum-themed limericks running around in his head and wants to try them out.
He doesn't plan to sing all night, just a couple songs-- and he doesn't plan to avail himself of the services of the Ladies of the Evening. He wants to leave himself time to read before bed.
He will start on either Bifur's Parchments or The Frukam Slates, whichever is still available.

Assuming he sees Rob reading, Bilchik is very curious about the books, and the party's fascination with them. A carnival troupe of scholars? Ehh. I've travelled with worse. I wonder what's inside though... prolly best not to ask with Chaz still lurkin around.
Instead, Harvey will take out a private room, hire a working man and a working woman and set them to work on each other. Meanwhile, he'll wear a bedsheet over his head and skulk around the room, periodically and strategically interrupting their merry-making with random questions.
"The marshals don't care about this?"
...
"You get a lot of outsiders doin' business?"
...
...
"Wot's the deal with all the plums?"
...
"You ever get paid to do anything.. unusual?"
...
"Tell me about other entertainers who've been through here. What kinda acts get a big reaction?"
Once satisfied, Harvey will ask to be left alone to rest.

Kalar considers whether or not to investigate the graveyard further. Eventually, he decides to attempt it. Along with Jim, Jehan, and the mule, he sets off for the graveyard. Just in case, he makes sure his holy symbol is at the ready. He also makes sure to fly up into the air at the first sign of trouble.
