"That was...beautiful..." Lynda says meekly, somewhat laughing. She collapses to the ground.
"Whatever happens next, I'll be able to rest easy knowing I blasted a mans hand off...in style..." She looks to Jehan. "...and I damn well hope you're suffering."

Rachelle puts the quarterstaff down on the ground and crouches down to Jehan's level. Should she wait until Jehan was just creeping out of his misery to knock him out? That sounded ideal, considering he nearly killed Lynda and shortening his current pain would be a bit too merciful for how she felt towards him right now.
Plus, it's a bit difficult to filch a man's things when they're flopping around like Jehan is doing right now.

Jehan stopped flopping as Kalar completed his spell. Jehan's chest ruptures and his heart appears in Kalar's hand, crushed and smoking.
Jehan's things:
2 potions (much like the one he drank)
a suit of leather armor (with the chest burst out)
a ring
exotic looking boots
a sack of coins (410gp, 2 med. rubies)
a necklace (seems to be a necklace of fireballs)
a fine black cloak

Lynda claps.
"Of all the sick and twisted things you've done, this has to be the best." Lynda says. "If I weren't so banged up, I'd search and loot him..."

"Rachelle, dear, if you could search our now-heartless assassin for any more of his trinkets. We just might find something we can use. I will identify what they are as soon as I am through tending to our Lynda."
Kalar continues to look around, wondering who their mystery ally was.

Rachelle sighs, coldly eyeing as she turns from the task of ransacking the now-deceased assassin. "We had a wonderful opportunity here, Kalar. I had the ability to make this man a shell of his former self, and you take that away from us?"

"He injured those under my protection. He hunted us down and attempted to kill us all. Death is too good for him, and I can assure you that he will not rest easy. In the morning, I will force answers out of him."

"Ooh, answers, excellent." Lynda says. "A way to get some results around here without the standard dismissive boredom."
Lynda takes a healing potion. "Well, it couldn't hurt..." She then drinks it.
"I'd also like to lay claim on those boots...I'll also take the ring, but if anyone wants it, feel free to have it."

The potion seems to have no effect. The ice continues to slowly spread. The party figured she had 20-30 minutes before she was completely covered in ice.

"Blast... Rachelle, could you give Lynda the amulet? Perhaps it will stop whatever this is."

Rachelle hurriedly passes the amulet to Lynda. Should they build a fire as well? Would that even help?

Harvey had listened to the parties conversation before approaching, watching around to make sure this wasn't some kind of trick on Jehan's part. After Kalar ripped his frickin heart out there's no worries about that, hehe! A little bit cliche maybe, but it still shows unusual cruelty and class. And he noticed the arrows! Were feelin unappreciated, weren't you? Heheh! Enough talkin to yourself, time for introductions!
He approaches slowly and cautiously, his bow out but no arrow nocked, speaking at first to Rachelle.
"Good evening, Rachelle! Helluva knock you gave ol Jehan, wasn't it? Only ever see pounces like that out of a reptile, like them crocs who'd drag a man into the water and spin his arms off! Seen some of the best of 'em couldn't do it as pretty as that. Ain't your first bushwhack, is it girl?" Harvey prefaces his greeting with a Draconic saying he picked up from a crazy lizard rogue that boils down to the rudest possible way of saying "Nice hunting".
He's not as sure what to say to the mage, speaking with an expression somewhere between admiration and fear. "Kalar, hehe! Blowin up the whole woods, rippin people's hearts out. Can't do that with no bow.. though maybe you could try and teach me sometime, hehe!"
There's nothing but admiration for Lynda. "This one here! Got it as bad as she did and what's she do? Jump on him again! Regular wolf in sheep's clothin, you! I seen wounds like that... little time by the fire, you'll be fightin' again in no time!"
Some of that admiration is actually for the wound. A stab wound that freezes you solid, inside to out? Can't do that with a bow either! Truly it's been a masters course on pain today, and Bilchik counts himself lucky to have witnessed it.
"Blastin a man's hand off in style. Our heart-less assassin. A shell of his former self! Some lovely thoughts we've shared, in words and deeds. You're my kind of scum."
Usually at this part of the speech I'd shoot a bird out of a tree for emphasis but all the fire and salt and screamin musta scared 'em away.. no matter! He holsters his bow dramatically and announces himself.
"H.P Bilchik, rogue adventurer and hunter of all things, at your service. Who do we want to kill next?"

Kalar stands up from where he was treating Lynda and looks over the newcomer. This was probably the individual who helped them, but it always pays to be cautious.
"Greetings, it seems you know who we are. I see you know who we are, so that could mean you're with the Inquisition. Alternatively, it could mean you've been following Jehan and overheard our names. To be honest, I feel that the second one is the more likely, but I trust you'll forgive me if I wish to be sure."
Kalar takes out his holy symbol, bathing the area in darkness. He focuses divine energy into it, releasing it into the immediate area before hiding the symbol again and returning vision to the area.
He then takes off his wooden mask, giving Harvey a good look at his face.
"Now, I have made it so we are all unable to lie for the next few minutes. My name is Kalar Kess, man of the cloth, healer, and necromancer. Behind me are are my allies in our bid to return home. I have given my word to protect them and do all I can to return them home. And I do not break my word.
"You wish to know who we are hunting next? I would like to go after Azderac, but we have other matters that need our attention. Should he cross us though, we will certainly fight back. If you are indeed a rogue adventurer, then Azderac will certainly be after you. Especially since you aided in killing his lackey. And if you are a hunter of all things, give us your word that you will aid us in our goal, and I will give you my word that you will be supplied plenty of things to hunt. And by the way things are going, you'll be pointing your arrows at more than a few members of the Inquisition where that assassin came from."
Kalar spreads his hands out, showing he is unarmed.
"Now, that you know who I am, I would appreciate it if you introduce yourself once more and state your intentions."

Cautious. That's good. These guys aren't amateurs. Amateurs get you killed. Harvey answers slowly and carefully so that they know he's not trying to phrase any tricky answers. "I'm Harvey Bilchik. I am as rogue an adventurer as they come and I got nothin to do with the Inquisition. My intention was to kill Jehan. Been stalkin' him for a long time, all the way from Azedarc's Cathedral and he didn't notice. Was fixated on you. Means you're trouble, and trouble's good. Gimmes a canvas to work wiith, hehe. So long as I get a cut of the loot, a place by the fire and plenty of things to shoot, you got nothin to fear from me."
"And if it don't work, we part ways. No hard feelings. Never betrayed a partner, no matter how much they might've deserved it, and not gonna start now. That good enough? We ready to partner up? Y'can take care of yourselves, and that's good enough for me. If you say no, I'm just gonna follow along anyway. Learn what I can, shoot trouble before it happens and wander off when you get too boring."
