Interesting. Kalar looks around in a circle, looking both up and down as well, searching for Jehan or whoever else might be within 60 feet.

"Hmph. Now he's gone and made me look like a fool." Lynda says, feeling dejected. "I'm not one for games. If he wants us, come face us. We don't attack...unless provoked. None of this knocking and dashing malarkey."
"I'm gonna make sure that nothing is out there." Lynda says. "Time to put this power to good use..."
Lynda vanishes to the ethereal plane, then walks out of the room to scout for anyone.

"Right, lads. Best everyone get some rest. Might be a good idea to stay together for now, so that I can keep watch over everyone. If the rest of you don't mind, I'll cover the room in darkness. Hopefully, if Jehan returns, he won't be expecting it and that'll give us a few extra seconds to act. Should he be ready though, I can turn the darkness off easily enough."

Lynda sees no one in the hall. But on the table, hung there with a dagger, she finds a note.
The note reads:
Leave the amulet outside your room tonight or else.
-Jehan

Lynda materializes, and takes the dagger and the note.
"Lame. Couldn't even tell us in person..." She thinks.
She then fades back in to the plane, and re-enters the room, then rematerializes. She then presents the note to the group.
"He's threatening us. Who even has the amulet any more?" Lynda says.

Rachelle looks at the note, putting it down with some annoyance. "Why would we give up what's been our saving grace more times than I can remember, just because someone vaguely threatened us if we don't give it to them?"
She sits back down, not exactly pleased to be awake at this hour. This whole 8 hours of sleep thing was still a pain. "It's not like they've ever really kept their word when we've cooperated, anyway."

Rob flops into bed. "I'll need my beauty rest if we are killing Jehan in the morning"
"Let's get an early start. I think I would rather be outside town when whatever goons he brought try to take us. The poor folk of Moulins don't deserve the collateral damage."

"I agree. Knowing how 'honorable' they are, chances are as soon as we turn over the amulet, they'll hit us with all the magic they've got. I vote against turning over the amulet. We should settle in for the night, and then leave first thing tomorrow. I'll pick up the iron bands I had made along with the mules Lynda purchased. We can also see about getting horses or a boat tomorrow, and then get out of here as quickly as possible. Personally, I would prefer the boat, as we would be able to move quicker, but that might be out of our budget right now."
Should the others agree, Kalar will take out his holy symbol, concealing the room in darkness. He'll be able to see perfectly well, but with luck Jehan won't and any who might attempt to ambush them in the night will be at a disadvantage.
While keeping watch, Kalar will keep working on his mask. It's almost done, and another night's work on it should see it finished.
Was Lynda able to purchase the mules? I ask in case we need to make a quick getaway.

The night passed without further interruptions. The party awoke to find the room still in darkness. Kalar ended the spell quickly at the first complaint. Lynda showed the others the mules and other things she had purchased as Kalar went to retrieve his specially made iron bands.
The sun had barely risen as the adventurers gathered together to start their journey on the road outside of the Inn.

"Very well, let us be off. That Jehan fellow is bound to attack us, and I would rather not have this village slaughtered as collateral damage. If you have any last minute purchases that you need to make, now is the time to do so."
Kalar attempts to purchase an mule and a cart (15+8=23 gp), just in case. The other six mules won't be much as beasts of burden very soon, so he wants something that will be able to haul things.

Rob sits astride Stumpy, ready to ride out the moment Kalar is ready to go.
His sword is at his side, and his Rob's Standard is mounted on Stumpy's saddle. He has removed the remainder of the make-up from last nights lizard-performance.
Rob glances around to make sure no villagers are watching, and when the coast is clear, he casts Detect Scrying

The road the Inn sat on was long and wide. It ran all the way through the town and this early in the morning, when no one else was on the road, you could see clear to the other side of town from either gate. The adventures stood on this road, waiting for Kalar to complete his quick errand. As they did, they saw people slowly begin to line up in front of the church that was on the same road a fair ways away. The people looked sickly. By the time Kalar returned from collecting a mule, cart, and some iron bands there were more then a dozen people lined up in front of the church.

"Come then, let us be off. I'd rather we not have to deal with those people. Staying here to rest while entertaining and healing them is no longer an option if Jehan is in the area. Let's get going."

"Wait...Kalar, lets not be so hasty." Lynda says. "Surely this amount of people were not sick yesterday as they are today...I suspect foul play."
"I'm going to investigate. I'll be back shortly..."
Lynda phases to the ethereal realm. She will then go near the crowd, and look inside the church.

"You did too well when you healed those people, Kalar. Now they're expecting you to deal with all of their health issues," Rachelle hissed. Couldn't he have just used his regular medical knowledge to help them, instead of magic-ing their issues away instantly?
If there was some foul play at work, as Lynda thought might be the case, she'd personally want to be as far away from it as possible.
