Lynda and Kalar approached the town. A fishy smell filled the air. The two adventurers could hear the quiet murmurs of the townfolk going about their daily business. The town guard was laxed and the wall shabby. Lynda and Kalar were able to pass right into the town, unnoticed. Street merchants sold things that held little interested for Lynda and Kalar.
Kalar noted that the church seemed to be the biggest and most centrally located building. As they passed the church, he also made note of the good sized graveyard in the back. The port held many large building. They seemed to be warehouses mostly. Only inspection of each building individually could tell Kalar more.
The pair came to a well traveled Inn. This seemed as good a place as any to spend some time. The Inn held a good sized tavern on the first floor. None of the patrons seemed very interesting to the pair. In fact, the pair seemed to be the most interesting ones in town up to this point and the tavern was no different. All eyes were on them.

Kalar land towards Lynda and whispers, "People seem to be getting suspicious. Might not be a good idea to be showing off to much wealth. If any ask, or when you introduce us, tell them I am a traveling physician, ready to offer my skills as a doctor. And make no mention of magic, I am confident enough in my medical skills that I can treat the most any of the maladies this town might have."
If it's a fishing village, it's there anything else Kalar might have noticed that Lynda wouldn't? He was a maenad and lived on the coast for years, so he would have at least a passing familiarity with boats and the sort.

Kalar didn't see anything out of place in this town. The fishing industry seemed impressive, but Kalar had seen better. The fishing methods were different than he was used to, the nets seemed strange. Kalar was sure this was just a local thing and Kalar didn't really care enough about fishing to learn more about it.
After introducing themselves as healers, the townsfolk seemed more inviting. Their strange, almost noble, appearance seemed normal then. Murmurs suggested that people were actually grateful to have such well dressed healers. "They must be good to afford such things," one woman said in passing. They were informed that the very sick or injured were taken to the chapel.
Meanwhile
"They've gone so far so fast," Dan said. "This group will be out of the castle too soon a this rate."
"It shouldn't matter," boomed the dragon. "If your spell works, the artifacts will be protected. Otherwise, they won't. It's better we learn if the spells works or not this way anyways."
"Yes, but I haven't cast it on everything else yet. There's no telling what kind of side effects could result from only parts of the kingdom experiencing the time warp. Maybe we should send someone in to stop this group."
"Reasoning with the groups has never worked before and I refuse to stand by and let you these people. In fact, watching this group, I'm not sure there's anyone you could send to stop them by force anyways."
Rachelle and Rob were making good time on the road. They reached the back road that led to Moulins. The route looked like it hadn't been used in years. Seemed this town did all of it's trading and travel by boat.

Kalar observes the chapel, trying to figure out who it is dedicated to. He would rather not enter it if he can avoid it.
To get around it, he tries diplomacy by saying he avoids religious connections so that he may treat all people from all denominations. He'll be happy to treat any who come to him for free. All he asks for in exchange is a humble room to rest in for three days.
Of course, he has no intention of stepping on anyone's toes, so he won't press the issue unless anyone asks for help. He will ask around though, where he might purchase extra medical supplies, saying (truthfully) that some of his supplies were sadly lost when he was forced to abandon his wagon.
To Lynda, he whispers, "See if you can find a place where we can purchase horses. Granted, we don't really need them to get anywhere, but these people don't know that, and we want to blend in as much as we can. At the very least, we can use them to carry things for us. Or more preferably perhaps, some mules, as they're much cheaper."
As there may be clerics nearby in the chapel, once he's alone in a room with no possible observers, he'll cast a spell to mask his his nature. He's unsure if they'd actually have divine powers, what with magic being banned, but he would rather not take any chances.
Spell used: undetectable alignment, duration: 24 hours.

"Well, Rachelle", Rob says, "this is the back road to Moulins. I haven't been here in over 15 years, and all I remember about the place is that the food was decent (if you order the fish) and they like folk music (especially if you sing about fishermen)"
Rob prepares to broach what he fears might be a delicate subject. "Now, I know.... you are a... Lizard-lady now, and I apologize deeply for my... insensitivity when that first... happened... but since we are trying to keep a low profile, and since we know Azedarc is hunting Adventurers, perhaps you should really give this Hat of Disguise a try."

From the outside, the chapel seems to have no deity based symbols. Once inside, Lynda notices a number of inquisitor symbols. There are three priests in the chapel. They all seem harmless. She is shown two people in need of urgent care. One is a young girl that has received a wicked bite from what Lynda makes out to be a large spider. It's uncertain if the girl will recover from the bite, only time will tell if she's strong enough. The other person is a fisherman who fell between two boat last night. His legs are mangled horribly and the bandages the priests in the chapel have used have not completely stopped the bleeding. Lynda can tell that without better treatment, this man will not survive till the end of the day.
Kalar is largely left alone. He can tell that his comments about not visiting the church have turned a few people off.
Rachelle and Rob make their way through the old path. After an hour of travel, Rachelle starts to spot large amounts of webbing webbing in the trees. It's not long before she also spots two large spiders nearby. Given their size and general appearance, Rachelle doesn't seem them as that huge of a threat given her past experience. However, they're also not something that can be completely ignored. They are sitting up in a tree near the path ahead, not moving. It's uncertain whether or not they have spotted Rachelle, Stumpy, and Rob.

Lynda frowns as she sees the two people being treated.
"My word, these poor people!" Lynda says. "It such a travesty."
Lynda looks to the priests. Seeing the inquisitor affiliation, she decides to fake an alias.
"I am Lady Lucretia D'masque. My travelling companion is a doctor, and may possibly be able to treat these people. He's sometimes quite particular in his methods, but he's dedicated to what he does."
Lynda looks around the building.
"I must say, this chapel is rather lovely. Myself and my partner do enjoy taking in the culture of the villages we pass through on our travels. May I ask to whom this church services?"

"The church is dedicated to the noble Levistus. May he quell our hot tempers and bring us peace," says the priest Lynda has been speaking with. "I have heard of other deities being worshiped to the south but have never made a pilgrimage there to learn more. Are you from Perigon? I heard they worship someone named Pelor there."
As Rachelle approaches. The spiders leap at her. She smashes one of them out of the air and dodges the bite of the other. A small rush comes to her from her staff. She misses her attack at the other spider badly. With one spider looking dead the other backs off a bit as does Rachelle. The spider stands 40ft away from Rachelle. Rachelle stands 30ft from Rob.

"Ah, very interesting. These names intrigue me. I do enjoy travel, as it gives me much insight on the world around me, both earthly and divine. No, I do not hail from Perigon, though it is one of the places that we were set to pass through at some point."
"I will inform the doctor of your wounded, and I will see what he can do."
Lynda will go and seek out Kalar and inform him about the wounded, the inquisition affiliation, her alias, and the information she learned about the local deities.

Rachelle, feeling a bitter feeling in her throat once again, steps closer to the spider. This same feeling she had been able to act upon twice before came up... but this time she could easily act upon, and did, breathing a corrosive gas upon the remaining spider. If that doesn't do it in, she will make sure to respond to any attempt by the spider to attack with another heavy thwack of her quarterstaff.

The spider sputters in pain as it flails about in agony after Rachelle's corrosive assault. It seems very injured, but clings to life. It tried to flee as Rachelle strikes it down, ending the spidery threat. A whirlwind of emotion flows out from her quarterstaff. It begins to change shape. The name "Drinker" enters Rachelle's mind. Rachelle gains a sense of the living things around her in a way she had never experienced before. She could tell now, that the first spider she thought was dead was actually just very close to death. She felt compelled to finish it. As she did, she felt a refreshing healing power come from his quarterstaff.
Rachelle's quarterstaff, Drinker, now bestows Deathwatch to her and bestows a negative level on a successful hit. The wielder gains 1d6 temporary hit points each time a negative level is bestowed on another.
