Rachelle hesitantly hands over the amulet. She's still really confused as to what's going on, and why this guy attacked and then not attacked... among other things.

"Hmm, the markings do seem different. It seems a lot more aged too. Ok, you seem to be telling the truth. I warn you, Azedarc can detect lies. If you're lying, you're better off coming clean to me before meeting him," the tall man said. Then he handed the amulet back to Rachelle. "Keep it. It's not in the job description anyways. No one mentioned a lizard person either. I also believe you to be Robert, correct?" the tall man said as he gestured towards Rob. "If so, this is perfect. You're known not to be an adventurer, so if the others are dead as you suggest, you are the only one I even need to take," the tall man said as he looked at Voulton. The tall man seemed quite pleased with himself. "Well, let me know when you're ready."

"Best of my knowledge, I'm telling the truth. Like I said, it's been good travelling with you. I hope to see you again, but if not.. well, then we know for sure what the deal is."

"Before we go, I just wanna know two things. How did this Amber's amulets come to be a symbol of the Inquisition? And when we meet Azedarc, how does he like to be addressed? I fear some of the things I'm going to have to tell him will be unpleasant and it would be nice to be polite when I do it."

"Fair enough. The amulets were given to bishops long ago by Bellamy Amber to give them a leg up against some of the more evil forces that threatened the kingdom. So, they're not really a symbol of the inquisition, they are just one of their more powerful tools. As for addressing Azedarc, I always call him Archbishop Azedarc. If that's all, let's go. Simply hold my hand and I will teleport us there," said the tall man as he reached a hand out towards Voulton.

Before Rachelle or Rob could come up with any objections or farewells, Voulton was gone. They stood there on edge for a while after the two had left. The tall man had said a lot and now Voulton might be going to his death. It was a lot to take in. the rest of the night was uneventful. The dawn came and Rachelle and Rob got their stuff together to continue their journey.

Kalar and Lynda were up and ready to go before dawn even came. They set back out towards the nearest town just as the first light of day sparkled on the river they were flying above. They had no knowledge of the other's meeting that took place that night.

Wherever Voulton is, he regrets the abruptness with which he left his new friends, but seeing his old friends in Nathaires corpse pit had rekindled something. A need for justice. Twice now Voulton has met the Inquisition of this land. The first time they were fools, ignoring common sense and decency. The second time.. seems to be going well so far. Maybe good men in the right place can do good things. And I'm certainly more competent than the ones who tied us on the wagon, Voulton muses to himself. Maybe, just maybe, this plan will work.

Voulton notices he's inside a room with no doors or windows. "You'll have to wait here until Azedarc is ready to see you. There's food in the cabinet there and a bed right there of course. I have to go now," the tall man vanished as soon as he finished speaking. Voulton found himself trapped in a small room. It reeked of a prison cell. The food seemed to look out at least. Better than the rations Rob had in any case. The bed seemed a bit small though.

Not entirely unsuspected. Voulton had wondered why none of his weapons had been confiscated, or even his hands bound if they were going to be in the presence of the big boss. And after what happened to the first group of inquisitors, maybe not entirely undeserved either. If he can see anything, he'll check the walls for grafitti, supposedly that was popular in the jails back home. Bet I could make some righteous marks with my axe, but I'm trying to be polite.

It wasn't long into the day when Kalar and Lynda first spotted the fishing town, Moulins, in the distance as they flew over the river. Considering the kingdoms view of magic, they thought flying into town might not be the best idea, so they slowed down a bit to come up with a plan.

Rachelle and Rob's progress was faster without Voulton. They came across the road to Vyones as they traveled and slowed a bit to decide what they should do. Traveling on the road would be faster, but it wasn't a direct route to Moulins. It also meant they might run into locals along the way.

"Kalar, I have a hat of disguise. If we're to walk in to Moulins, you should wear it and appear normal-ish. We don't want to alarm the locals. My elvish features are not so alarming as your...mercurial undeath."

"If you're to disguise yourself, look somewhat noble. We can use that appearance and our wealth to say we are displaced nobility. Find an inn room or a secluded spot, and send a calling to our party. And perhaps I can investigate the townsfolk and pick up some gossip. Though, if you have any other ideas and suggestions, I'm all ears.

"I also need to find a way to acquire a holy symbol of some sort...perhaps modify some of my jewelry. Jasidians tend to wear their symbol as a form of jewelry, like a bracelet, necklace or hairpin..."

"I hope we see him again." Says Rob after a very long silence.

"Alive." He adds.

Rob doesn't care whether or not they meet any locals, and he won't assume Rachelle cares either unless she speaks up.

"Agreed." Kalar takes the hat of disguise and puts it on, changing his appearance to be that of a regular nondescript human.

Just in case, he takes his holy symbol, channeling divine energy into it, causing it to radiate darkness. He quickly places it inside his clothes, temporarily suppressing the effect. If it should come to blows, it'll be much easier to just take his holy symbol out rather than casting the spell.

"Lead the way, Lynda. I'm sure people will respond better to you. I can be a bit... abrasive, I suppose. See if you can find any information, or perhaps a merchant of some sort where we can get details of people passing through. Who knows? The others might have gotten here ahead of us."

Kalar will follow behind Lynda, keeping quiet mostly, but also on the watch for any potential hostiles. He'll attempt to get an idea as to the general atmosphere of the town, as well as where the central government, if any, is located. Of course, he'll also keep an eye out for the graveyard. If it exists, he'll be sure to pay it a visit come nightfall.

Spell used: Deeper Darkness, duration: 9 days

Lynda takes off whatever she is wearing on her head, and puts on her gemstone hairclip. As well, she puts on her golden bracelet, and stows away her golden scepter. She also makes sure that she is fully corporeal.

"Alright, lets go."

She'll then lead the two of them in to Moulins, on foot.

Rachelle's fine with taking the road. If any locals do pop up in the distance, she'll try and get a ways off the road before they notice her.

She also slowly starts to come to terms with the fact that she'll have to be to front line in combat, now that Voulton has vanished.
