"A beautiful morning, isn't it grand?
Quality time spent with my Mage-Hand!
Botching this trap wasn't so bad,
Plenty of fun is still to be had!
We're not in a rush, we'll do it this way,
Mage-Hand and I are making a day,
of leisurely quenching with wine-bottle cold,
these lovely droplet nuggets of gold!
While I am singing my gold-nugget song,
Absolutely nothing could possibly go wrong!"
Hmm... Rob furrows his brow. Isn't it a little trite, rhyming "wrong" with "song"? He can probably do better.

Kalar looks around, then asks Voulton, "Where's Rob? Or was I the first one you ran into?"
Kalar looks back, torn between going back for Rob so that they'll be able to face whatever threat is coming as a group, or to press on and hope to strike down the threat as quickly as possible. In the end, he finds a middle ground and continues to head for the camp while he sends a skeleton back to fetch Rob. If it's capable of doing such. He curses not having anything more capable than these things. Still, they're good enough for what they do.

"Didn't run into him. Lynda's back. Her and Rachelle were still outside last I saw. I hollered but I guess they didn't hear." Voulton will follow Kalar.

"Is she now? Excellent, we'll need all of us together if those things attack. With their numbers, even if we each kill ten apiece, they'll still overrun us. Hopefully if they do decide to move on us, we'll be able to bottleneck them."

Lynda took out her spyglass and looked at the creature. It was as big as an ogre and covered in spikes. It had four arms and seemed to have no eyes. It was a terrible sight, that was for sure.
Kalar and Voulton continued up towards the surface as a skeleton approached Rob. It began tugging on his shoulder, unable to voice it's request.

"Hello, friend!" Rob greets the skeleton cheerfully. "Are you thirsty?" Rob proffers the bottle of wine, now a little less than half-full.
"No, I suppose not" he says after a moment of looking at the skeleton's empty rib-cage.
Rob scoops his collection of nuggets into his pack, dismisses his Mage Hand with a wave, and re-corks the bottle before following the skeleton wherever it is leading him to.

"What the hell is that thing?!" Lynda exclaims. "...Will it attack?"
Lynda watches the creature warily.

"Voulton, continue on to meet with the others. I'm going to get a bird's eye view of things."
With that, Kalar mounts Bill and heads up into the sky. He mostly just keeps going upwards, spiraling around as he gains altitude. He would rather not get closer to the things to provoke them, so he mostly aims to just go a few hundred feet above the fortress to get an idea of what's happening on the ground.

Rob finished gathering up his gear and was slowly following the skeleton, despite what seemed to be eagerness in the way it moved. At the same time, Voulton, Kalar, and Kalar's undead minions had just reached the surface as the bug-like creatures began to advance. Voulton and Kalar could just make out a couple of the creatures heading towards the cabin at a running pace. The flying ones were the easiest to spot. Four of them where flying straight towards the cabin from the south. Voulton and Kalar were still a good distance from the cabin and knew they had to hurry.
Rachelle and Lynda went from wondering what the creature was to worrying what the creature could do as it emerged from behind the rock formation and began to advance on them. It was accompanied by what looked like 3 different types of other bug-like creatures. None of them looked very friendly. They were getting very close. Rachelle and Lynda would have to think fast.

Rob finally picks up on the urgency in the skeleton's "body" language. He picks up the pace. "Late for a hot date?" He asks the skeleton, but he feels a little worried, and wonders what is going on, and what Kalar must have said to the skeleton to get it so agitated.

"Voulton! Go! Bill and I will deal with the flying ones!"
Kalar holds his holy symbol to himself and strengthens his bones to iron. He then uses Bill to fly for the four that are in the air. The others should be able to deal with the ones on the ground, but he would rather they not have to deal with attacks from above as well.
Spell used: Iron Bones, +6 to natural armor
Kalar current AC: 10 + 9 (armor) + 6 (shield) + 1 (Dex) + 6 (Natural) = 32
Bill current AC: 10 + 1 (Dex) - 1 (Size) + 9 (Natural) = 19

Voulton rushes to find the others so they can provide the best possible defense against whatever's happening. "Man, if we survive to hell with this place."

Lynda quickly flies upwards, and readies her bow to fire at the creatures on the ground.

Rachelle stands at the entrance to the camp, quarterstaff at the ready. She wonders if having Lynda's amulet on is preventing any latent powers of the quarterstaff from manifesting, but that's a question that can wait until she sees what these monsters are capable of.

Stumpy saw the bug-like creatures coming his way. His first instinct was to flee. He was told to stay put though. He had been doing a perfect of follow direction these last couple of days. He had even been looking after his less intelligent horse fellows while the humanoids went about their business. He wasn't going to ruin his perfect record over a couple bugs. He stood firm, rallying the other horses to do the same.
Rachelle and Lynda readied themselves for battle. Rachelle stood to the side of the camp entrance to attack things as they entered while Lynda began to shoot at the medium sized creature on the ground. It was just below the flying ones and Lynda thought it might be leading them to some extent. Two of her arrows struck the creature, but did not kill it. The creature seemed sturdy for such a small thing. Lynda knew she could do better with her shots if she focused more though.
Rachelle did feel that her stave was been stifled. It didn't feel half as powerful as it did when she was not wearing the amulet. The idea of these bugs using magic seemed unlikely. Rachelle wondered if she should change her gear up a bit before the bug guys actually reached her.
Voulton and Kalar rushed to enter the battle. Voulton reached the edge of the camp as Kalar flew towards the flying bugs. He found that meeting them in the air might be hard on top of his clumsy mount. He watched as his attempt to intercept the group completely missed as they continued to fly on towards the cabin. One of the bugs broke off from the group and headed his way as he tried to adjust his flight angle.
Rob quicken his pace as he noticed Kalar's skeletons had emptied from the dungeon and the skeleton seemed to be leading him back to camp rather then towards Kalar as he originally thought. He hoped to get there soon.
As Lynda readied to fire again, she saw more bug-like creatures approaching in the distance.
Lynda deals 9 dmg.
