Voulton enters the room as the skeletons begin to go about their assigned tasks. The room seems perfectly normal. However, as the skeletons begin to push the wardrobe, a terrible cracking sound came from the ground. Kalar instantly regreted sending so many of his skeletons in at once as the ground opened up. Like a giant door, the floor swung open into a deep dark pit underneath. The furniture went tumbling down, followed by the skeletons, and finally Voulton. The pit ended in terrible spikes. The furniture and skeletons were all destroyed. Voulton slammed into the spikes, experiencing the worst pain he had ever felt in his life. One of the spikes had gone straight through his head. Blood flowed over is one remaining eye till he could no longer see. His body went numb and limp. He remained conscious through the whole thing. A dull ache overcame him then, as his body slowly began to regenerate.
The others looked on in surprised. Shining the light down the pit revealed a more than 100ft with Voulton's skewed body, along with bits and pieces of furniture and skeleton at the bottom. They noticed that a 5ft by 5ft tile, remained in front of the sturdy metal door on the side of the room.
Voulton takes 101 dmg and is impaled

As the floor drops out from below Voulton there's enough time for a thought to go through his head and that thought is "I didn't even touch anything!"
After that, there's no room for thoughts. Only a spike and its best friend pain. Assuming Voulton is capable of making sound, the singular continuous noise he makes at the bottom of the pit is a tortured howl beyond sensibility.

"Rachelle! Give me the rope! I am going down!"
After being tied to the rope, Rob will have the others lower him down, and he will unload every healing spell he has got into Voultin's poor punctured head.

Rob was slowly lowered into the pit. As he approached Voulton, both he and Voulton heard something approaching from a small hole in the wall at the bottom of the pit. A terrible shapeless creature seemingly drawn from a lunatic’s nightmares exited the hole. It's many mouths spoke of it's hunger for blood. It's constant gibbering grated on the minds of Voulton and Rob.

Tiny change of plans. Rob will only administer his strongest healing spell, then he will teleport himself and Voulton back up top by invoking his Cape of the Mountebank.

Rob quickly swung over to Voulton. He cast his healing spell on Voulton just as the gibbering mass of flesh and teeth shot a toothy tentacle Voulton's way. It latched on and began digging into Voulton's skin. At the same time, Voulton could feel his wounds closing around the spikes. Some of the smaller spikes were pushed out by the quicken healing, while others stood in the way of what might have been much needed healing for Voulton.
The blob of mouths shot an acidic spittle at Rob. It hit him in the face, blinding him. While still holding Voulton after healing him, Rob used his magic cape to magically transport himself and Voulton back tot he top of the pit. They appeared right behind Kalar and Rachelle who fell down on top of them, having just lost the load on the end of the rope. Voulton was still badly injured. He had trouble seeing out of his one good eye due to the thick clotting blood and his arms and legs were still covered in holes. He was conscious though. He could slowly move and he could feel his injuries healing.
The shapeless monster quickly retreated from the light the party was shining down the pit. Rob's sight returns after a few moments of acidic burning.
Rob takes 7 acid dmg
Voulton heals for only half the amount Rob's spell would normally have healed him.
Voulton takes 1 dmg and 4 acid dmg (5 dmg total)

Voulton has no desire to go anywhere so he gently puts himself down on the floor where he can hurt in peace. Seeing anything out of his good eye only serves to remind how terrible the other one is, so he keeps them both shut.
Reaching up with his hands, he tries to assess the damage. Mostly he's able to confirm that the spike did go through his head, and Voulton doesn't want to know any of the grizzlier details than that.
"What kind of... MONSTER.. makes a trap that.. keeps you alive to HURT MOOOOORE?!"

"Here, let me see to him. Rachelle, if you could keep an eye out for that thing. If it appears, alert me and I will attempt to blast it out of existence."
Kalar moves to Voulton and begins to use his glove to heal him. It will take a while, but it should be able to restore him to full fighting ability in a few minutes.

It wasn't long before Voulton was completely healed. A new eye grew as he was healed. When the healing was done, all that remained to show that Voulton had actually been critically injured was glogs of drying blood and a slightly different colored eye.

"Well, that's that taken care of. I want to press on to see what's behind that other door, but if the rest of you would rather not, I will understand. I should be able to other door without any problems by running across the walls, but honestly I would rather not head in alone in case there is some necromancy at work that can take control of me. If no other option is available though, I will risk it.
"If you would rather we leave, there's still that other bloodhulk to deal with, along with the room with the lightning."

"I'm good to keep exploring"
Says Rob with a little more confidence than he actually feels.

"Very well. I'll take point then, but be on the lookout for anything hostile. Also be careful of any effects that might potentially affect undead. I would much rather not be taken control of and forced to turn on you. Now hand me that rope."
Kalar will tie the rope to his waist and order his skeletal minions to keep hold of it and to pull when commanded. He backs away a few feet, and then runs towards the other door, moving from floor to wall and back again. Once at the other end, he will manifest his sword and look for any traps. Provided there are none, he'll remove a piton from his pack and drive it into a gap or crack in the floor. He'll then tie the rope to it, taking all the time he needs to make sure it's sturdy. It's not much, but it'll provide a means for the others to cross.
Up the Walls feat, been a while since it's been useful.
And the pitons he's been carrying around since level 1 finally come into play!

Kalar detects no traps with his magical sword. He then successful anchors a rope to the floor tile in front of the hard metal door.

Right. Next, Kalar does something he is unaccustomed to. He attempts to open the door himself. He hasn't completely taken leave of his senses though, and makes sure to position his shield between the door and himself. He also stays close to the rope, ready to grab onto it should anything unfortunate happen.

Voulton is glad the exploration continues. Anything worth protecting this way must be very worthwhile.
