"Right, I've had enough of this."

Kalar moves to the doorway, just in sight of the chest but outside of the room, and raises his holy symbol focuses divine energy into it. With all the power gathered, he releases it in a blast of sound aimed at the chest. While doing so, he makes sure to remain well behind his tower shield, just in case.

The chest blasted open. Gold pieces and finely crafted items spill out of the hole created. The gold begins to melt due to the the arching electricity. The melting gold pools around the other items.

Voulton steps the hell back, letting the wizards do their work. Molten gold and lightning is clearly nothing to trifle with.

"Right, lads, this is getting a bit dangerous. I can cast a spell that would protect us from this, but I neglected to pray for it last night. I say we retreat for now and explore the other rooms. At the least, we can hope whatever magic is causing this will wear off soon."

Kalar leads the way towards other rooms they have yet to search, again using his sword to check for traps.

Kalar heads for the room west of 6 and north of 5.

"Magic isn't as convenient as they make it out to be." Voulton sighs, following to another room but agreeing entirely with trying another room.

The group leaves the room. They explore another room. In this new room, they find a hearth. The hearth seems magical, with black flames instead of red. In the corner of the room, there's a slump over humanoid shape in a purple cloak with gold embroidery. The large cloak hides every part of the body, which seems somewhat discarded.

First, Kalar removes the skull of detecting undead from his pack, searching around the room for any undead. Then, he uses his wand to detect any magic items. Lastly, he uses his sword to search for traps. With any luck, this is the body of Nathaire, and if it is, Kalar wants to take no chances.

Rachelle puts down the book she had just started reading, wondering where everyone else even is. Maybe she should go down and see if they didn't get destroyed by something else that was left in the ruins.

...or maybe not. She faced a beholder on her own and lived, and that's worth taking a day off for.

Kalar detects no undead or traps. Then, a glimspe of the arm of the thing slightly poking out from underneith the cloak sets Kalar on edge. It was a marble arm. Kalar quickly understood that this was Silas.
Rachelle sat back down with her book. He knew which room they were in. She didn't really feel like poking around down there until she happened upon the others. Plus, there was Lynda to think about. Someone really should stay behind here in case Lynda showed up.

Meanwhile:
"You're pretty dim," said Dan. "At this rate you'll fade into nothing. This curse requires constant strength of will. Your anti-magic amulet has saved you this long, but unless you want to be tethered to that item forever you need to strengthen your will power."
Dan seemed more eager than frustrated, despite what he was saying. It had been a while since he was able to speak with someone about his curse, or what he liked to call his gift. Lynda wasn't a fast learner, but Dan could tell she was trying hard. "For now, let's focus on staying solid. If you simply think of being solid, it should happen. Stay focused, and think only of becoming solid."

"Stranger and stranger. Unless I am very much mistaken, that fellow right there is Silas. Should still have a hole in his forehead, that is, unless something happened in between then and now. I wonder..."

Kalar manifests his sword and moves the cloak aside, so that he can get a better look at the body.

Kalar confirms that not only is it indeed Silas's corpse, but that he is still dead. The body seems to be just as the party left it, despite now being in this dungeon.

"Why wasn't his body with the others?" Voulton wonders, having heard a little about Silas during the party's talks about the Castle.

"Most interesting. Lads, there is certainly something here that links this place to the castle. Voulton, you found your fallen comrades, and we found some of ours. I have no idea why his body is separate though. Perhaps something to do with his deity. Just to the south of here in one of the rooms was a shrine to the deity he worshiped.

"Let's leave him for now, I want to get to the bottom of this."

With that, Kalar leads the way, again using his sword.

Kalar heads for the room east of the point between rooms 24 and 16.

The door was a heavy wooden door with iron braces. It was locked, but no traps were discovered.

"Right, lads, stand back."

Kalar stands well clear and orders Bill to smash the door down.
