Things are getting dicey. Kalar considers bringing a zombie ogre onto the field, but decides instead to go for quantity.
He holds up his holy symbol, channeling the power he enchanted into it, says the word "morvire", and animates every single body in the room as zombies under his command. Once they are up, he will order them to swarm around the wights, bearing them to the ground and smashing at them.
Corpsecrafter feat: Each zombie gains an additional +4 to STR on top of the +2 they usually get for being turned into zombies. They also get an additional +2 hp per HD.

As Kalar animates the dead bodies, the vile wight in front of him takes the chance to scratch at him. Kalar manages to avoid the attack and successfully animates 16 zombies. The zombies struggle to unpile themselve's as a group of mirrored images rush into the room. The mirrored images and the zombies all incur attacks from the nearby vile wights whom seem to possess honed combat reflexes. 3 of the images and 6 of the zombies are destroyed this way. Voulton rushes in then, pushing past Rob, Kalar, the zombies and the images. He bursts right through one of the images in order to attack, causing the image to vanish. Before he attacks, one of the vile wrights takes the opportunity created by Voulton rushing through the crowd to get an attack in. The vile wight's attack misses but Voulton's does not. His axe digs deep into the vile wight's chest. The vile wight hobbles backwards from the strike. The zombies swarm in on the vile wights. The first vile wight, have multiple injuries from Kalar's bloodhulks and ray falls quickly to the zombie attacks. The other two fair better. Most of the zombie attacks miss, with the few getting through causing only minor damage. None of the zombies are able to grab a hold of the vile wights. The bloodhulks, the held one now free, fair better with their attacks. The each attack a different vile wight, causing good sized dents in their boney bodies. The vile wights retreat to the north of the room with a unnatural tumble.
A cold dark blast shoots out from each of the vile wights' chest. All but 4 of the zombies are destroyed by the attack. Voulton sees the blast coming again, but still gets another dose of cold dark energy. Kalar too manages to see the attack coming, and also prevents a good deal because he's undead. His bloodhulks don't see the attack coming, but are able to stave off a good deal of the damage again, due to being undead. Rob didn't see the blast till the last second. He takes a full blast of it right in his face.
Both of the vile wights look very damaged.
Rob takes 49 cold/negative dmg
Voulton takes 24 cold/negative dmg
Kalar takes 12 cold dmg
Bloodhulks take 24 cold dmg. (one has taken 103 dmg, the other only 24)
Vile wright takes 47 dmg from voulton, 15 total from zombies, 16 from bloodhulk.
Vile wright takes 7 from zombies, 21 from bloodhulk

"Let's end this."
Kalar holds out a hand, finger clutched in a claw. He channels divine energy into his hand, and then brings it down in a tearing motion at the nearest wight, pouring his power into the movement.
Spell used: Flesh Ripper (BoVD) 8d8 damage, ranged touch attack

Rob emits a grunt of pain as the blast hits him. He sees that Voulton and Kalar both look hurt too.
Rob is about to cast a cure spell on Kalar, but remembers that Kalar might not appreciate that, being undead now, so instead he casts Cure Moderate Wounds on himself, while hoping that the Wights might focus on his 3 remaining mirror images

Voulton rushed in and struck down one of the vile wights before it had a chance to attack again. His axe cut straight through the damaged husk of the beast, leaving only lifeless pieces on the ground. Kalar's spell hit next, tearing a hole in the other wight. It looked beaten as Kalar's bloodhulks approached. It missed it's atacks mark as the vile wright lurched up from it's sunken posture. It's claws dug deep into the bloodhulk's flesh. It bit into the bloodhulk's neck and dug into the bloodhulk's chest with it's many intestinal tentacles. It was still latched on as the bloodhulk fell to the ground. The next bloodhulk came in and caved in the wight's skull. It went limb, this to for good. The zombies swarmed in, smashing what might have not already been dead, leaving no room to think the wrights might get back up.
Kalar gave a look at the pile, the grouping of bodies that might have held another wight had been animated by his spell. there was very little chance anything else was hiding amongst the many bodies. The fight was over, with only two bloodhulks lost and a few nasty scratches in the process.

Roll(2d8)+11:
8,3,+11
Total:22
Rob completes his heal spell on himself (+22hp) and then surveys the carnage on the battlefield. His remaining mirror images celebrate mutedly before winking out of existence.
"Voulton, Kalar, you fellows are amazing. Are you allright?"
Then to Kalar, "Is it safe for me to use curing spells on you?" Rob asks. "I had not thought of it before, since you usually do all your own healing, but when you are otherwise occupied in combat, is it alright for me to cure you? I already know that would be inadvisable for me to do on your followers."

Voulton admires the axe in his hand... this cold iron stuff is as good as they said it'd be! If only it worked as well on wood.
Voulton needs a second to find where Rob's voice is coming from, having been paying attention to one of the images. "Amazing, hehe! I don't feel amazing. I feel half dead, but I think I'll live! What were those things? Did they really kill *ALL* of these people? What were this many people even doing here?"

That's when Voulton began to notice his friends' bodies. It was the green armor that tipped him off. Darrel Gurwick had painted his armor green for "Camoflage". Voulton had watched him do it. Voulton had also watched as Darrel was beaten to death by tiny furry people. They had left his body there, back at the castle. They had buried it. How did it get here? Then he saw Harry, Jenibelle, Zash, and even his good friend Sarge. They had all died in the castle. As Voulton looked at the bodies, Kalar looked too. Under the corpse of a zombie he had created out of the corpse of a dwarf lady, Kalar saw a body holding a candleabra. Kalar kicked the dwarf lady to the side and saw that his thoughts were valid. How had Arden's body gotten here?

"This isn't right. This man, Ardan, died back at the castle. He shouldn't be here."
Kalar thinks of possibilities before saying: "The ghoul lands. This place has a portal to the ghoul lands, and so did the castle. It might be possible that the bodies were transported through there. If that's the case, it might be possible to go back if we need to."
Kalar turns to Rob and says, "Ah, no, that would damage me. It's positive energy, and that harms undead. I can take care of my own healing, but thank you for the offer. However, if any of you need healing, just see me and I'll use my glove to get you back on your feet."
He turns back to the bodies and says, "We had best search the bodies. If they came from the castle, they might have some important or at least interesting gear. And as soon as we're done here, we'd best leave. I do not want to run into that beholder."
With that, Kalar heals himself back up using his other glove, and begins doing the same for his other minions. After that, he'll use his sword to search for any traps, and then he'll begin to search for anything that might be useful.

"Why would someone go through the effort of bringing dead bodies from the castle here, though?" Rachelle asks. "Especially if they had to go through the ghoul lands to get here?"
Rachelle pauses, then asks Kalar a question: "And didn't you go through the ghoul lands before now? How useful are they to get from place to place, anyway?"

"Yes, I went there. I'm not sure how useful they would be as a means of travel, but from what I understood, there were portals dotted all over the place, each one leading to a different location. But the distance of those portals there wasn't the same as the distance here. When I entered from the castle, I had to travel the better part of a day in order to get to another portal that led to the same place.
"As for why they would bring bodies here, I'm not entirely sure. Maybe he was harvesting them for artifacts from the castle? I feel that we barely scratched the surface there, and we still came away with plenty of goods. From a necromancer's point of view, it's a win-win. No risk to him if his minions do the traveling, he potentially gets powerful magical items or expensive treasure, and he has a stream of bodies to work with."
