Rachelle slashes at the skeleton, but doesn't put anything close to her whole force behind it - enough to do an amount of damage that wouldn't completely destroy the skeleton were she attacking with a regular weapon.

Sure, slamming the skeleton into oblivion would be ideal for her, but for the sake of knowledge letting it potentially survive is for the best.

Lynda is twofold disappointed.

"I knew it...I knew when he said he'd take care of it that he'd get himself killed..." Lynda says, upset. "It's good see that Helena is still alive though. My ethereality is not equipment based...I wonder what happened to me to cause this? Part of me wishes I had stayed to ask Sephora about it..."

As Rachelle swings down at the skeleton, the sword pulls her swing towards the skeleton's mouth. Rachelle allows it to control her swing and it inserts itself down the skeleton's throat. The skeleton bursts into dust. Nothing remained.

Well that was strange, Rachelle thought. What was it with these magic swords and them forcing an action onto you? She didn't like the idea of that at all.
...even if both of them shared an interest in the annihilation of undead.

Rachelle stowed the sword away. Hopefully the sword would have a bit more sense when it came to this undead colossus and not force her to stick it down the thing's mouth, if the thing even had a proper one at all. Seriously, what was that about?

"Well, that was informative. At least we know that the sword is the one we'd been looking for. Do tell the others. I will head on out to reconnoiter."

Kalar flies on up with Bill, going as high as he is able in order to get a good look at the surrounding area.

Rachelle returned to the others and told them what had happened. No one seemed to question the authenticity of the sword after that.

There wasn't many people in the INN that afternoon. In fact, even the bartender was no where to be seen as Rob showed up for his gig. He had booked it a month ago and had been preparing for it for weeks. This was going to be his big chance to take the spot light from that hack Harold Gunswell and his terrible lute. His big chance seemed to be a big flop as he walked around the empty bar.
Gaspard showed up as Rob sat on the stage deciding whether he should still sing or not. Gaspard looked over joyed as he said, "Oh thank goodness, I thought you may have fled the town too." The two son found a table and began talking. "As you know, according to the message we received, the Colossus is due to show up tomorrow. I need someone capable to help me stop him and my options are running thin." Rob's resistance is clear as Gaspard continues to explain. "I have made a dozen of these," Gaspard pulls up a small sack. It looks ordinary in every way. "This sack is capable of destroying the Colossus instantly. One sack to the face and the threat to our city will be gone." Gaspard grows less eager as he continues, "However, given people's view on magic, people I reach out to either don't believe me or want nothing to do with my plan. I need someone with magical knowledge to help me." Rob grows shifty eyed as Gaspard mentions his magical talents. Gaspard pleas, "Rob, will you help save the city tomorrow?"

Meanwhile, Kalar was exploring the area. It became quickly clear to Kalar that flying around near the city was gaining the attention of the city guard. They all seemed on alert. He was able to see the fortifications the city had made while they were gone. Some of the ballistas seemed very well made. Kalar flew out of sight quickly so the guards wouldn't get a good look at his face with any spyglasses or the like. Kalar found Hrulgin in almost the exact spot he left him. It was instantly clear to Kalar that Hrulgin had taken some damage while he was away. Hrulgin confirmed this by explaining the large number of bears he had to face.

Unknown to the party, in the depths of the Veccna's lair, scenarios were being run to come up with a plan to twart the party. Veccna's generals mused as the scenario of taking control of one of the werewolf children, that one of them had named Vouton jr., and empowering him with a great deal of Veccna's support played out. It would work, but the amount of resources such a thing would take hardly seemd worth the effort. They turned their attention back towards the north then. They had much more important assets they could control then a small werewolf child.

Finally, Lynda, Tammytharn, Rachelle, Voulton, and the werewolf children entered the city. Tammytharn was glad to see the roads were mostly empty. The group found their horses being taken care of at a stable near the docks. They quickly found an INN and Tammytharn secured the werewolf children. She thought about the escaped child and wondered if he would be ok in the forest overnight. He had not followed them into the city and had refused to answer any of Tammytharn's sending spells.
It wasn't long before the party found out that the Colossus was due to arrive tomorrow. Each of them counted off the days they were gone, trying to figure out the days they had lost to time travel. They each prepared the best they could for what was to come tomorrow.

"By the slime of the Sun, Gaspard!" Exclaims Rob. "You never know when to quit! Look around you! Look at this place!"

Gaspard gestures at the almost empty bar.

"The way things are going, you are going to turn Vyones into a another Norte Touraine"

Rob only waits a second for the impact of that insulting metaphor to sink in before he continues in a false mocking imitation of Gaspard

"Oh no! The Graveyard Collosus is coming!"

Rob waves his hands in the air,

"Oh no! Nathiere is plotting to destroy us!"

Rob makes an embarrassing face and flutters his eyelids

"I loved Nathiere like a father, and now he is my mortal enemy!"

Sensing his last jab might have crossed a line (or hit too close to home) Rob reigns it in.

"look, Gaspard, I love you like a brother, so I am going to help you out here. We both know this isn't just for show" he gestures to the enchanted Rapier at his belt, "and that my magic isn't just for ladycharming, so I have your back, I really do. Just tell me where you want me, and I will pitch in."

Rob groans inwardly at the expression on Gaspard's face. He takes this stuff so seriously!

Tammytharn knew she couldn't just leave the child out in the wild. She also knew there was no way she could keep these children in town without being accused of kidnapping or having the children escape. She made a hard decision then. She wrote a short note explaining where she had gone to the party. They knew she was leaving, but perhaps they didn't know she was leaving so soon. Without a word, she took the children's cart out of the city. No one questioned her as she left. In truth, she was one of many that secretly left that night. Once out of the veiw of the city, she quickly spotted the lost werewolf child, much to her delight. She then made a bold move. She released all of the werewolf children. Most of them bolted at first. Tammytharn simply set up camp and prepared a large meal. Little by little the children came back. Even the original escapee came to sit in the camp that night. Tamytharn looked around at the children. She knew she how found what she was meant to do.

In their preparation, the party didn't notice Tammytharn had gone for quite a while. Some of them wanted to go after her after they found the note. But they didn't know which gate she had left through and knew they didn't have the time. Instead, they searched around town for a supply store that might still be open. They didn't know what they could get to help, but they thought it would be better to look and find nothing than not look at all.
The city was dark aside from the large coal basins on the city walls placed there by the guards. The party walked around looking for anything that might be open. They counted themselves lucky they had even found an inn considering the state of the city. Everything was closed up, locked down, or otherwise barricaded. Then they came across a lone window with a light on. It was an inn, but the party knew that many times inns had supply stores attached and were hopeful as they entered. None of them expected to find who they did.

Kalar considered his position. The city wouldn't allow his minions in the town, not with a looming undead threat. Should he leave them out here and go in, or stay out here with them.

Gaspard was explaining how it would be best if he and Rob stationed themselves up on the city walls with the sacks. They would have the best chance of getting their throws high enough that way. That's when Lynda, Rachelle, and Voulton walked into the bar. As soon as Gaspard saw Rachelle he jumped up from the table. "The Sword of Sylaire! We're saved!"

Lynda nodded.

"Yes, indeed. You wouldn't believe the shenanigans that we had to go through to acquire that sword. We dealt with a seductress, went through time, fought numerous werewolves, I myself was nearly shot dead by an angry cleric, attacked by ghosts, and found out the seductress we conversed with was dead all along. It's all a long story, but what matters now is that we have the sword."

"And it appears to work just as the legends have stated." Lynda says proudly.

Lynda turns to the man with Gaspard.

"And who might this be?" Lynda says. "I thought most everyone had fled."

Kalar thinks a while. He then decides to camp out here for some time. He has some supplies, and if he stays out here, he'll at least be able to warn the others should anything approach. Besides, none of his minions need sleep, so he'll have a guard ready should anything happen.

He decides to settle in for the night and finish his glove. By his reckoning, he should be done with it within the day. If they're going in to battle soon, then that glove will be of great use.

He also tries focusing his mind, trying to send out a call. He'd heard that ghosts were not so easily destroyed, perhaps some of them managed to survive?

He thinks for a while, and then says, "Hrulgin, did you manage to locate their graveyard by any chance?"

Hrulgin nods. "It's a bit north of the city. The number of guards there has triple since I started watching them. Even so, it's a big graveyard, about the size of a small town. We might be able to sneak in undetected if you so wish." Kalar thinks about this as he works on his glove. He also tries to think of ways that he could find his ghost if they still existed but given that they were destroyed in the past and originated near Sylaire, the likelihood of them appearing anywhere near him seemed unlikely.

At that same time, Gaspard was looking the sword over from a respectful distance. "Simply remarkable," he said. "Ah yes! This is Robert Rottlerwits. He's a talented person like yourselves that has agreed to help save the town. Oh! Before I forget, here!" Gasperd takes out several of the small sacks he has been claiming will destroy the colossus. "There should be enough here so each of you will have two chances. Here Rob, I have three for you. As I was telling Robert, I think it's best if we set up along the city wall. We'll have the best chance of hitting the colossus' face from there. I believe if we are able to hit it with just one of these, the threat will be averted. You are all going to save this town." Gasperd looks at the adventurers with a sense of hope.

"Hmm, very well, it might do to try to bend some more minions to our side. Let's go. Lead the way, but be sure to remain hidden should we be spotted. I would rather the guards to not see us, but if they do, I will say I am part of the group sent to retrieve the sword."

Kalar considers the specifics of what to tell the guards should he be spotted. He wants to avoid an outright lie...

"Further, if I am spotted, I suppose I can tell the guards that with a necromancer coming, it might be a good idea to have an experienced man of the cloth, which is technically not a lie, inspect the grounds. I'll say that it's being done in the defense of the city, which is also not a lie, I'm just not saying how I mean to protect the city. If there are any undead there, might be possible to bring them under my control, and pretend that I am driving them off."

His plan formulated, Kalar heads off atop Bill with skeletons in tow. He keeps to within the treeline, out of casual sight of anyone from the city. Once he reaches the graveyard, he plans to leave Bill and the skeletons behind. Explaining them away might be a bit beyond his silver tongue.

Lynda looks at Rob with a peculiar expression.

"Rottlerwits...?" She says, puzzled. "Are you, parchance, related to a fellow by the name of Dan Rottlerwits?"
