Kalar shakes his head at the offer and says, "No need, I've collected more than enough trinkets and the sort that I can sell. Give my share to Voulton or divide it amongst yourselves. Buy what gear you need, I'll see to getting supplies for all of us and for outfitting the wagon."

Relieved, Tammytharn offers Kalar's share to Voulton.
2358 gp to Voulton.
Uncertain of what she wants to purchase yet, she decides to go to the library first.
She finds a librarian and asks for help finding the books she is interested in. She is prepared to tip/bribe him/her if it seems to be necessary to find the really good books.
* She wants to find recent history books that tell about the Clover/Amber family.
* She wants to find anything like periodicals or newspapers that detail recent major events in the country since the curse fell
* She shows her Tome of Warforged to the librarian, and ask for help understanding it, and ask if there are any related works she can cross-reference with it
Tammytharn has prepared 2 castings of "Tongues" in case she finds any interesting books written in languages she does not speak.

Rachelle had got herself the quarterstaff that had belonged to Galse, and was beginning to realize that maybe she could get rid of a weapon or two of hers. She goes to sell the sword she had picked up in the brain collector's room, and then goes looking for a moderately-priced bag of holding.
She also starts looking around for any art galleries or bookstores, hoping to start amassing a collection to bring back with her.

The party happily spends the day in this underground library town shopping, eating, sleeping, and reading. They don't see Moriamis at all, but assume she is a busy lady and decide not to bother her.
Rachelle is offered 4000gp for the sword. She then finds a discounted bag of holding. It only holds 200lbs, unlike it's normal 250lb carrying counterparts. It's being offered for only 1800gp.(700gp cheaper than the rest) She considers this while looking through the small art stand tucked away down a hallway. She sees the rooster statue Kalar sold on display here. They are displaying it proudly. They also sell small glass and gem figurines as well as paintings of various sizes and value.
Tammytharn goes to the library. Showing off the huge tome draws the attention of several of the robed men in the library. They explain that there is no easy way to go about understanding this book. It will take time, skill, and intelligence to be able to fully use this book. They go on to explain that the warforged part of the book isn't the most valuable part of the book but that the iron golem part towards the back is the most enchanted and acts as an Iron Golem Manual. Tammytharn is offered up to 20,000gp for the book. She considers the book but decides to put it away for now, much to the disappointment of many robed men.
She begins to read about local topics.
Voulton finds only a small story about the Sword of Sylaire. In it, the sword is created to destroy undead. It is described as being able to destroy even the most powerful undead in a single hit. It goes on to describe several other abilities that the sword possesses, most of which seem like an exaggeration, such as detecting unseen foe, evil intent, flight and shooting holy rays.
Voulton then begins to read about various topics.

Kalar sells the items he had appraised and then goes and buys everything else he thinks he will need. He also searches for some unskilled peasants who he can hire to act as porters, wagon drivers, cooks, etc... Most importantly though, he intends to hire them for their local knowledge, as even the most unskilled commoner who is a native here will know more about the land's history than they currently do.
He knows that commoners can usually be hire fairly cheaply, and he's guessing his 40 gp should be enough to hire at least one peasant for an extended amount of time.
Once that is done, he intends to research as much as he can about the local clergy, their structure, their tenets, and their history.

Voulton wonders who put this bag of money on top of his pile of books. Tammytharn had asked something earlier, she must have something to do with it. Will have to remember to thank her. Put it towards some healing potions before we leave, maybe.
This pile of books is also getting pretty big. Better put 'em back where they belong before it gets much bigger...
At some point, Voulton wants to hire a scribe to record his (and the party's if they're willing) experience with Castle Clover with particular emphasis on things that seem pertinent to future adventurers or curse breakers ("The walls are NOT lined with gold and jewels as was our understanding.... don't try to eat any squirrels, there's goblin guys who get SUPER testy about it... there's a mean lady who won't let you build a cabin in the forest in a castle, traps that killed other people and how they got through, etc.."). And while he's hiring people out, he'll hire someone to check out the ring that came off of the werewolf's nether-region* for any magical effects or abilities, and try to find a place to clean it of any possible cooties.
In the meantime there's jokes to be had on Kalar, who is way less intimidating as a halfling (who as it turns out AREN'T just little people but are a distinct species of their own! Like ponies and horses! ... or giants and people...). Voulton brings the book with him to Kalar and shows him the bits about the Sword of Sylaire. "Now that'd be worth paying 25,000 gold for, am I right?"
*Spoony did a typo and said something like "They notice a region that comes off the nether region of the Werewolf before he stops regenerating" and he meant a ring and we sorted this out in IRC. Voulton claimed it as a trophy but hasn't worn it out of fear of catching Werewolf from it.

And another thing! He'll ask someone what to do if you want a copy of a map: Either hiring a scribe to trace it, buying some paper and something pencil-like and tracing it himself, or whatever the proper procedure here is.
This post was edited to try to be more polite than just hiring a guy at random. That would be very offensive.

Voulton finds out there is already copies of the map he was looking at and buys one for 25gp. He then spends 300gp to identify the werewolf ring.
Finding a scribe to record his stories proves easy. Voulton soon finds two robed men, both wanting to write done everything he had gone through. They don't ask for any gold.
Kalar has a tougher time finding people to hire. He quickly notices that everyone here, even the person selling chickens is a robed mage. None of them have any interest in leaving the library for more than a few hours. Despite Kalar offering more and more money, the answer seems to be a resounding no. The robed men's reaction to being asked to leave the library seems dubious, as if they are compelled to stay.
Kalar gives up and decides to begin reading about local and religious information.

Kalar looks at the book Voulton is showing.
"Perhaps, although if things go well, we won't have to pay for it. However, by the way things are going, I'm thinking we'll have to shell out far more than that in time and blood."
Kalar looks around, and then lowers his voice, "I've noticed something. Everyone here seems rather... reluctant? To leave? I get that they're fine where they are and with what they're doing, but this place seems to have some sort of hold on them beyond that. Might want to keep your eye out."

Voulton looks around the room. Does anyone have a tan? Anyone got muddy boots? Anyone's clothes look a little ripped and worn like they've been through the brush? "That's weird. I'll be careful."

"Remember how I told you that previously it seemed as if everyone at the castle was stuck in a time loop of sorts? What if this place...?"

"Most interesting. Could possibly be of use to us. Do you think you'll be able to create an iron golem? If so, that would be extremely useful for our purposes."

Tammytharn shakes her head. "No, I don't think I could do it. Even with the help of these instructions, I don't think that I am up to the task of making a Golem, neither in terms of spellcasting, nor in terms of ironcrafting. You saw how badly it went last time I tried to cast a spell from this book, and that, I think, was a simpler one than this. Also, we would need about 5000 pounds of iron, which seems prohibitive."

The party realizes they are all getting tired. There's no way to tell if it's night or day down here. The ambient light is always present in the cavern and the robed men seem to be up and about at all hours.
Moriamis finds some of the party in the library and informs them the potion will be ready tomorrow. "Have you found the answer to all the questions you had?" she asks Kalar, Voulton, Rachelle, and Tammytharn.
Lynda spends the day thinking about her arm. She considers taking her necklace off again to see what happens, see if she can somehow control it. She decides not to though.
