"Not WELCOME them as equals, no, but at least go get a look at these scrolls and talk to this leader which seem like pretty good leads. These guys are idiots and I'd love to be cutting them in half right now, but their boss might be a worthy ally. Going to see them might be dangerous, might be a bad idea! I don't know the whole story, but to me, it's the most promising lead we've got!"

Kalar glares at Rachelle. "Really? Now? You think this is the best time to have that conversation?"

Kalar gestures towards the two men. "These men attempted to rob us. We can defend ourselves easily. Are you actually saying that we should just laugh, slap our thighs, and send them off happily? Are you then willing to have the blood of whoever they attack next on your hands? Because that's what it will be if you decide to just let them go.

"As for acting virtuous, I am not. I am being practical. If it hadn't been for my treating every single person of interest as an inexhaustible font of knowledge, as you put it, then we would never have found out just who was behind this curse."

"So tell me then, if what I am doing is so vehement in your eyes, what would you have us do?"

"Hmph, very well then. If you can convince them of that, then so be it."

"They're the ones who know about the curse, we were lucky to survive let alone figure anything out. I fear that giving our information freely to men who just tried to rob us might be *too* generous, even if it is our best bet. Is there some guarantee we have that you'll return? That you won't run off to try to obtain these artifacts and muck it up as badly as you've mucked up being highwaymen? Some kind of collateral or guarantee of future mutual cooperation would be good. Is there somewhere safe we could wait while your agents and our agents determine whether or not our respective information is accurate?"

"You said your spell cause me to speak only the truth. Which seems true considering I have been unable to lie."
Hrulgin returns with the other robed guy knocked out again.
Christophe looks at his knocked out friend and scowls. "Why are we even talking? Just kill us or let us go. If you're planning on turning us in, we'll just turn you in right back. It won't take them long to figure out you're not from around here. We'll be in the same boat."

"If we are going that route, then I say we have the entire group head on towards wherever this leader of theirs is. I don't trust these people enough to have only one of ours going with them."

Kalar gestures towards Hrulgin. "And that is because he tried to escape while you stalled us. My colleague Voulton here was making a rational proposal, and you tried to have that one run off. You just tried to rob us, how are we to know he wasn't trying to sneak off and stab us in the back?"

"Kalar, do you really think this troupe will actually go and kill someone? At most they'll demand their money and be off - and if the people who go through these woods don't even have the means to hire someone to scare off these types, then that's their own damn problem"

"And damn your practicality! Your other 'practical' thing has been your skeletons, whose biggest accomplishment was getting turned against us and walking away with a sword that cost 25 grand!"

"A sword that cost 25 grand, that we knew was cursed!"

Rachelle paused to catch her breath. "And you know what would be ideal? If you just kept quiet, and let people who hadn't just turned back from being a werewolf do the talking."

"I'm just a woodsman. The hell do I know about magic? Why don't you go and check what you need to check? I assume you have a camp around here? Would it be asking too much for most of us to rests there while we sort this out?"

"I refuse to lead you guys anywhere," says Christophe.

"Really? -Really-? You're willing to just see innocents robbed just because they're out of sight? They don't concern you because they're someone else weaker than you? And you accuse me of being the bad guy. I would rather these people didn't go robbing innocents. And yes, that is the truth, you know I cannot lie right now. Their robbing innocents doesn't serve us at all. Think about it! They rob people, the officials get wary, they increase security. How does that help us? How does the constabulary being on the lookout for troublemakers help us in any conceivable way?"

"And as for the sword, we learned about who was behind this curse. We received much-needed information from it, enough that we're no longer groping in the dark. And just how much information have you managed to acquire? What is your grand plan then? Keep running around blind hoping that everything goes well? Crossing your fingers and thinking happy thoughts so that we magically get back home? You need my practicality. You need the hard choices made. I gave my word to do what I could to see you all home, and I intend to keep my word, dubious moral choices or no."

Voulton shrugs and starts cutting down trees. "I SUPPOSE WE'LL JUST BUILD A NICE HOUSE HERE TO LIVE IN THEN!! COME BACK AND VISIT US SOMETIME! YOU'RE MASTERS OF DECEPTION, I'M SURE WE WON'T BE ABLE TO FOLLOW YOU!"

That's good, Voulty. Hit the trees, not the ignorant man. You're bigger than him, he's not a threat to you. Take it out on the trees.

Christophe makes a break for it and casts a spell. A concealing mist fills the area around him, concealing his location.

"Why would have happened if that sword wasn't capable of telling us that, then? Would you have shrugged, perfectly fine with throwing an obscene about of money at someone who didn't even remember us? And do we even know if what it said is even relevant anymore, seeing as we asked him that question before the true nature of the castle was revealed?"

"And to your first question - if people are getting eaten alive by werewolves and there's still no sign of increased security, what makes you think people will take notice of a few coin purses lost now and then?"

Interrupted by Christophe's mist spell, Rachelle makes a quick retreat to the wagon. If these fools decide to go off into the woods looking for these dumb wizards, she'll be fine just guarding the place.

"UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, WIZARD! DON'T FORGET OUR DEAL!!!" Voulton will also quit cutting down trees in this fog. It's a good way for someone to end up dead.

Kalar makes a dash for the man, but then stops, trying to gather his wits. He gropes his way back to the camp, using his nose to locate the other man, intending to restrain and tie him up.

"Let him go for now. As soon as this mist clears, I propose Voulton, Hrulgin, and I track that fool down. Once we know where they're based, we can hit them in force."

Kalar again uses his nose to find his way back to the wagon. There, he starts tapping his shield against it. "If you can't see, make your way to the sound of my shield, I'm at the wagon."
