Kalar is annoyed that Lynda has given away that information, but lets it slide.
"Exactly as my colleague here says. Now tell me. Who comes off as the more credible source here, your ancient scrolls that have driven you to a life of theft out of desperation? Or us, the well-off and non-thieving individuals who know the specifics of how to break the curse, who caused the curse, and who's death triggered the curse?"
Kalar changes track with his arguments.
"Or perhaps is it that you see a werewolf? And that is immediately an abomination against nature? You yourself said that magic is considered evil here. Are you then, the only ones virtuous enough to dip into darkness for the greater good? At least I have never stolen from anyone on the road."
Kalar gestures towards Tammytharn. "As you know, my colleague here has cast a spell that makes it impossible to lie, therefore you know that I am telling the truth when I tell you that I did not choose to be this way. Before this, I was a devout man of the cloth, following the teachings of my deity to the best of my abilities."
Absolutely true, and in no way a lie, but Kalar leaves out exactly who his deity is.
"Further, I am doing all I can to rid myself of this curse, as I would much rather be able to fulfill my role as a healer instead of being a savage beast."
Also true, though perhaps not the entire truth.
"And yes, I was a healer before this. I remind you, that I cannot lie because of the spell my comrade has cast. I was indeed a healer, and a medic, and I used my powers to aid my comrades and tend to their wounds."
"So tell me. Highwaymen who use evil magic and are clueless about the curse? Or afflicted man of the cloth and divine healer who is actively fighting both curses with the knowledge needed to effectively fight both?"

"Voulton. You are one of us, and you're part of the group. You lend your services and abilities for the party as a whole. I will gladly share whatever information I have with you because of that. I give you my word that I will tell you everything I know regarding the curse. And I keep my word."
Kalar turns to the two men.
"These ones though, have tried to rob us. I overlooked that, and gave them the opportunity to sign up with us. They would have received that same information, but they seem to think it a far wiser course of action to spurn my generous offer. So why should he receive the same treatment that you get?"

Christophe turns back around but motions towards the other robed man to keep walking. "Right, I forgot I was captured. Captured by people that want me to trust them. Want me to trust them even though they won't share any information or even let me leave. So, are you going to tie me up or something?"

"Hrulgin." Kalar nods towards the other man.
"Acting all indignant now? May I remind you, you tried to rob us first. And yes, I believe we will tie you up. Perhaps turn you in to the authorities. You see, unlike you, we have not attempted to rob anyone on the road. I am certain you will have an interesting conversation with the constabulary once my colleagues turn you over."
Hrulgin moves to intercept the second man, ready to use his paralysis attack if need be.

"You didn't want them to join our group, you wanted them to swear allegiance to you! These guys have scrolls and leaders, which is more than we can say about the guys blindly banning the only power likely to get them out of this mess!"
he then turns his attention to the guys running away, fire in his eyes and axe in his hand.
"As for you, what makes you think robbing a werewolf is a good idea? It doesn't take a genius to tell that we're not your local farmer out on his daily apple delivery! It's no secret that we've got casters of our own, we're closer to your boat than anyone elses. Maybe instead of robbing us, you could've invited us home and we could work together to get out of this! I don't care about your local politics or pissing off the King, I just want to go home."
Exasperated, he begs to either side that'll listen. "Is there any reason we're not working together, other than the amateur hour attempt at banditry?"

"Of course I wanted them to swear allegiance to me. They just attempted to rob us, and you would immediately welcome them as equals?"
Kalar sighs, trying to get his anger under control.
"But there is merit in what you say. So be it. If they won't bring their leader to us, have them take us to their leader instead if that suits you better."

Rachelle, in an effort to stop Kalar from going and running off a second time after these robed men, goes and clamps a hand on his shoulder.
"Do we really care about whether or not the most pathetic bunch of wizards I have ever seen get away or not? Do we even have the means to drag them towards town?" she half asks, half-scolds Kalar.
Turning to get in between Kalar and the escapees, she continues.
"And really, do you have to treat every single person of interest like they are an inexhaustible font of knowledge? Do you have to ask so many questions of them that whatever patience they had for us a whole is wasted immediately?"
"And why do you act as if you're so virtuous, anyway? Defiling the dead is a far worse crime than petty robbery, you realize."
