"What am I doing down here?" Galse says, looking around very confused and unable to explain exactly what happened. "I remember knocking that lady out..." he adds, unable to resist a grin as he looks over... tied up! That was real! Awesome! "Wasn't gonna repeat the mistake I made with that sleepy guy..." he stops cold in his tracks and looks up at Kalar. Tough guy status is at stake! Gesturing to his head he asks "You didn't.. uh...?" and then makes a smashy-smashy gesture to his temple.

Kalar offers a (hopefully tough-guy enough) hand to help Galse up.
"There was something in here, I think it possessed you. Some really powerful undead or the other. I think it's gone now that I shattered its phylactery, but be on the lookout."
He turns to Hrulgin and says, "Hrulgin, are you injured? If you're up to it, could you search through the room and report on anything you find, please?"

Hrulgin quickly looks around. Everything seems rotten and old. However, behind the throne, in an unlocked open case sits the Amber Family crown jewels. A little label marks them as such.

Galse admires Kalar's grip and goes to work looking around the room for anything that might be possessing people or any way the scoundrel could've escaped.

Kalar decides to leave the crown jewels for Lynda. It might be good to have Tammytharn check them out first, to see if they're magical.
He moves to the stricken cleric and removes one of the potions of healing from his pack. Carefully, he trickles the potion down her throat, hoping that she won't choke on the stuff.

Tammytharn wakes up fully restored and looks around the room. Questions about what happened follow as well as the location of Lynda. All of which is quickly explained. Lynda regains the rest of the party in the throne room and explains what happened with Claude.

After pointing out the crown jewels to Lynda, Kalar does his own search around the room. He examines the skeletons, trying to learn what he can from them, either with his medical skills or his divine knowledge. At the very least, he'll try to ascertain how they died and why they seem to be standing.
He decides as well to pick up the pieces of the broken scepter. Who knows? He might be able to learn something from it about how the ghost or whatever it was managed to do what it did.

Galse gets to the crown jewels. They seem ripe for the taking, but Galse knows better. It doesn't take long for him to find the poison dart trap connected to the pressure plate under the jewels. Disarming it would be another matter.

"Poison darts in here, nobody get greedy" Galse says, pointing to the box. "Do we even NEED the crown jewels? Did that scroll riddle say anything about 'em?" He wonders if throwing the box across the room would be enough to trigger the dart, and wonders if there's enough room in there for more than one dart. No reason to risk trying though.

"I doubt we need them, but I'm fairly certain out Lynda will want them.
Kalar hands Hrulgin his tower shield, and asks the ghoul to try undoing the trap. If the trap goes off, hopefully the shield will block the darts. If not, then at least Hrulgin should be immune to poison.

Galse makes sure to be as far away as possible and preferably behind something (A door or a wall would be good) whenever some damn fool tries to open that thing. No good will come of it!

Hrulgin goes and picks up the jewels. A dart hits him right in the throat. He doesn't seem affected by the poison but the dart wasn't a pleasant experience. As he picks up more of the jewels, another dart hits him. After that, no darts come, even when Hrulgin stirs around the jewels.
Hrulgin goes over and gives Kalar his shield back with a grumpy look on his face.
Hrulgin takes 5 dmg.

"I apologize. You have my word though, once I have my spellcasting back, I'll make it up to you."
Kalar takes his shield back, and holds it at ready.
"Lynda, dear, you're free to pick up those crown jewels should you desire."
Kalar goes back to investigating the skeletons, trying to learn their cause of death.

"Why thank you, Kalar and Hrulgin." Lynda says. She then goes to carefully take the Crown Jewels, seeing as Hrulgin took the brunt of the trap.
"And Galse, we don't need such things." Lynda says. "But we are adventurers. So long as these frivolous vanities don't kill us, then what is the harm?"
With that, Lynda will put on her crown that she handed to Kalar, and examine the throne room, as well as examine her newly acquired crown jewels..

The crown jewels consist of 7 matched pieces of jewelry all with an Amber color to them.
The skeletons' bones were fused by something so that they stand in rigid poses, a courtier bowing, a lady leaning sideways to gossip, and so on. They all seem to be in place for a celebration of something. The main question that comes to mind when looking around the room is why wasn't the king wearing the crown jewels for this event. Everyone else seems to have been finely dressed despite their now decayed appearance. There seems to be nothing else of any value in the room.
