"This can't be good..."

"Sword, or skeleton, or whatever you might be. Do you know anything of this? It's in your best interest to help us now, as if we don't get through here, you won't be able to get through the portal."

Kalar leaves out the fact that if the party is killed here, the skeleton could always just loot their corpses.

Galse grabs the jeweled mace from the skeleton on the throne and shoves it rudely off it's seat. Galse sits on the throne and faces the party with a whicked smile. "You there! Kneel befoe your Queen!" says Galse in a high pitched voice.

The skeleton looks at Kalar but doesn't not fully answer. "He seems enchanted," is all the skeleton replies.

"Oh no..." Lynda says.

Lynda unties Tammy, and tries to restrain Galse. Unfortunately, she is too late. Galse has...become...queen? This is bad. Lynda hands Kalar her crown.

"If he think's he's a queen, he might get jealous of my crown."

Lynda approaches Galse with elegance, and then kneels before him.

"Your majesty." Lynda says regally.

Kalar gives a formal bow, but he does not kneel. He tries his hand at diplomacy, it might be possible to talk their way out of this.

"Your majesty, I greet you. As we are your guests here, I would wish to know whom I am addressing, that I might know in whose radiance I bask."

Galse gets a happy smirk on his face. "Fools, I am Queen Catherine Amber wife to Henry, rightful King of this realm. Your service will please me. Now, bring me one of the gremlins from the foyer. This shall please me."

Henry? What ever happened to Stephen? Kalar recalls what was said about King Stephen being murdered, and decides it might not be wise to bring that up right now...

"My lady, for what reason do you require a gremlin? I ask only that in knowing your purpose, we will be better able to fulfill your needs and thereby provide greater service to you."

Kalar tries to appease the woman... er... man, whatever. Hoping to buy himself some time to figure things out. And to give Hrulgin time to move.

He tries to make stealthy gestures to Hrulgin, pointing him towards Galse, hoping he'll take the hint and sneak closer to Galse to hurl a drow poison-coated dart at the possessed cook when the time is right.

Lynda fears her dresses color change may have been more than aesthetic.

"At once, your majesty. I shall return soon with the gremlin that you so desire."

Lynda stands, curtsy, and then elegantly walks out of the room. She then goes over to the Library, entering cautiously through the door near the red room.

If Claude is still present, she will say. "Pardon sir, but my memory is terrible. May I ask you of your name again?"

"Hold! You undead wretch!" Galse seems to quickly cast a spell. Dark magical rings appear and imprison Hrulgin.
"Who are you to question a queen? Conspiring against a queen is a good way to get sent to the dungeon. GUARDS!" No guards come.

Meanwhile, Claude looks up at Lynda. "Ah, you're back. My name? Claude Amber. Did you just forget or did your memory get erased or something?"

"Sword! Get back, I don't want this to affect you!"

As soon as the skeleton/sword is clear, Kalar will try to rebuke or command the queen, hoping against all hope that whatever is possessing Galse can be brought under his control or at least expelled from the cook.

Kalar rebukes at Galse to no affect.

Kalar Spot check:
Inside the gem on the end of the mace Galse grabbed, Kalar can see a tiny person.

Kalar notices the tiny person within the mace. A phylactery! He'd heard about these things before, but had never really studied them. From what he's read, they can be used to trap or store souls.

If that's the case, and Galse is in there, then shattering the gem just might free Galse's soul to return to his body.

Kalar doesn't want to close in to melee distance, and he doesn't have any spellcasting available. There are the fireballs, but he'd rather save those. With no other course available to him, he screams at the figure, aiming for the mace, hoping that the sonic attack will bypass shatter it or at least the crystal.

*Yeah, I know it's most probably not a phylactery, but Kalar doesn't know that.

"Where are my guards? No matter, I shall kill you myself!" Galse casts a spell and begins levitating into the air. An evil smile comes across his face as he eyes Kalar.

Then Kalar sonically blasts the scepter apart. A terrible scream fills the throne room and Galse falls to the ground like a rag doll. Hrulgin is released from the magical rings.

Galse takes 4 fall dmg.

"Hrulgin! Keep an eye out for any threats!"

Kalar rushes over to Galse to make sure the cook isn't too hurt. Hopefully, he'll be conscious enough for Kalar to determine if it's Galse or the queen.
