This is the part that confused the hell out of me when I played this game.

Speaking of crappy sequels! This one's way crappier than Castlevania 2.

You don't recover health or lives between stages, but there's no consequence to getting a Game Over aside form restarting a stage.
Uh oh, a spelling mistake, I guess I can't take the review seriouslyyyyyy :v:

I'll update that first one because the wording is awkward but I have no idea what the spelling error you're trying to point out is.

Seems absurd.

The whole point of posting these here is to encourage discussion of the games/movies/opinions therein.

I just read them, I don't really have any comments on the game as I don't really care about that comic (series?) nor the sorta awkward movie.

I'll comment if I feel something needs to be just said, I just couldn't help but point out those errors was all.

Pacific Rim actually sounds rather less terrible than I was expecting.

Were there any Cthulu type references to the giant-monsters-rising-out-of-the-pacific, or was it purely godzilla-inspired?

The monsters are explained but I won't spoil how. I didn't expect it! It's well worth watching, it just could have easily been more than it is.

I saw it on giant screen 3D yesterday. Loved every moment of it. I'm pretty much happy with anything that director does, but I was especially pleased with the efforts he put into this one. I really appreciated the fact that he delivered exactly what the movie was supposed to be and nothing more. I'm so sick of movies thinking that adding a twist to the plot or a character is going to make me love it more. It doesn't, and I usually don't. I'm glad that he made a straightforward movie about giant robots fighting giant monsters and the humans that are at the front of the battle and didn't oversell any one part of it. I also like that his few social commentaries are muted and left in the background for discovery, not hit over my head. It's a great time.

I was a bit on the fence about whether or not I wanted to see Pacific Rim, but that review summed it up for me pretty well. Seems ok, but I'm just going to wait for it to hit Netflix.
