I was having some weird issues staying connected earlier, and had to move like, 5 steps at a time. I dumped a lot of stuff into a bin marked "Very WIP", I have no idea where that was or who it belonged to, but I hope it won't inconvenience you there and I don't need it back.

Has it been doing that for you ever since the 1.3.2 update?
Also, what is your render distance set to in graphics options? The other day I noticed that there was a server config option that was effectively limiting display distance to "Normal" even if you had it set to "Far"
After I fixed that option, I had to upgrade my Java on my mac, because now that it was *really* rendering with Far distance, my old Java couldn't handle the memory usage.
I don't know if that could be related or not.

Glad to see I'm not the only one.
I get disconnected/reconnected so much I'm practically an Enderman.
My memory also runs out for some reason, despite the fact I'm using recent Java. Its annoying.

What is your view distance?
If this was caused by the change I made to the server-side view distance, maybe I need to change it back :(

I've been set to far and not having any problems. Even when I switched it to tiny it didn't work, and then by the time I'd wandered from the library to NJ, it was working normally so I switched back to far and didn't have any troubles. Also, it had been working just fine during teh 1.3.2 thing, this is the first issue I've had.

The "Very WIP" chest is the resource chest for the as-yet unpurposed new chamber I'm slowly building in NJ.
The server is unusable for a period of about an hour yesterday, but returned to normal. But Master K was the only person disconnecting every 2 seconds (literally).
The other day I noticed that there was a server config option that was effectively limiting display distance to "Normal" even if you had it set to "Far"
I don't think that's true, Far always was more than Normal. Unfortunately I can't use Far because my Windows install is 32 bit (you need a 64 bit Java, otherwise it dies frequently), and on Linux the graphics driver is so slow that I use Short or Tiny (so easy to get lost!)

The server setting was a number between 3-15
The old value was 10, and when I noticed a couple days ago, I increased it to 15.
Master-K, are you having any internet connectivity problems with any other programs? Web pages? E-mail? Youtube videos? Other games besides Minecraft?
Also, I don't know if this applies to the Windows Minecraft launcher, but on Mac, redownloading and reinstalling the latest minecraft launcher can give you a few additional bugfixes that you don't get if you do the automatic in-launcher upgrade.

I know my internet is half decent, but it was never this bad to the point where I would disconnect and reconnect within a matter of moments. So far, it's just Minecraft.

Master K, what is your view distance? Does reducing it make any difference at all?
Also, when it disconnects you, does it send you back to the title screen? or does it close the program completely?
Corner Stairs pose an immense dilemma though

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!!
http://www.minecraftforum.net/news/585- ... r-testing/
Dinnerbone's been
busy! Look at all this crazy new stuff!
EDIT: Not mentioned on the forum post, for some reason (maybe because they don't spawn yet), is an unforeseen mob known as the
Wither... Where will it appear? What purpose will it serve? Why does it have a boss health meter?
Why does it have the ability to devour blocks whole?!
Among all those questions, only one thing is certain:

it's coming for you

Ermagerd! Werthers!
THER GERNNA ERT MAH BLERKS!
1.4 seems like it's gonna be cool!
Hopefully it doesn't take FOREVER.
EDIT:
What luck I have! First, I have a Nether Portal that generated naturally in a massive cavern, and now on my search for redstone for my castle, I encountered a massive abandoned Mineshaft! Now my priorities are exploring and looting the mineshaft.
I even made a sword to protect myself...and then...to test it out...I tried it out on a cow. It fell in two hits...then another cow...then another...and then ohmyjeebusmustslaughtercowsstabbystabbystabstabstab
And now I don't have to worry about going hungry.
EDIT2:
I'm too cowardly to explore the mineshaft I found...too many twists, turns, scary monsters waiting to kill me...
Although, I may try and explore it again. I found a dungeon room with chests containing some iron, gold, a saddle, and a Golden Apple!
I decided to name it the Hole Of Heroes, following my thematic naming scheme. I found it appropriate too. It's vastly unexplored, so feel free to illuminate it. It would ease my nerves greatly.

Is that in italics because it's
enchanted and
glowing purple with delicious appley goodness?
I shared some pics with Giz while working on the temple dungeon forest temple temple today, and I didn't want to lose the links in case I need them later, so here's a sneak peek!

Actually, it's because there chances of appearing in a chest are
1 in 1000, or 0.7%! Sheer luck. Where do I get it from?

Alright, so...
I got a new enchanted Power I Bow, and I decided to take some arrows, go to the Nether, and start shooting down Ghasts. I went to the Nether, and shot down a few Ghasts and some Zombie Pigmen. Got a gold nugget, gunpowder, and a Ghast Tear! Felt proud.
Then...the unthinkable happened. I encountered a Ghast in a low ceiling area, and ran out of arrows with not a scratch done to it. I did the most bold, brave, and probably the dumbest thing ever: I ran at it trying to kill it with my bare fists. And guess what?
I won.
I killed that Ghast with my fists. I felt a sense of accomplishment.
And not a single eff was given that day.
