I just posted this as a template for LogHeckTec to use for drawing battle scenes, so I thought I'd share it here too. I admit its not perfect since I drew it in a few minutes but anyone may use it as a starting point nonetheless. See the original post for advice on using it.

@Foxley: Those are great! Love the style. Why aren't you in the pixel art book? These would be perfect...

Haha, thanks!

Is there a deadline for that, or can things be added later? I'm just so damn busy/stressed that I've barely been able to work on my HOTOHR deadlined game, and I feel like I'm really out of practice with spriting. I think I could do something better if I worked up to it.

The deadline is basically by next week, but I would accept late submissions for as long as the book takes me to put together. I'm aiming for the end of this month, so some time before then is fine, the sooner the better of course. I am in need of a bit more art, even if you just did 1 or 2 pieces of art, that would be great. And it can be art that you've previously made, so no need to stress on making new stuff if you don't want to.

Looks good so far!

My own pixelated project: Image

Myradi, from my crap-tastic game, Pearl Tear.

Considering the battle sprites from that game are basically the walkabouts, I think this is quite an upgrade.

C+C welcome! :)

I like it!

My battle sprites in my game are basically my walkabouts with their hands raised up to a guard position. I actually think I prefer games where you look the same size in battle as you do in the rest of the game. It's good because it allows you to make enemies look massive in proportion the the hero, without taking up the whole screen.

Another hero walktall set done. This one took me quite a bit longer, but I think I learned quite a bit as I went along.

Joker and Harley take on the Joker's nightmare in the form of an evil shadowy Batman!

A very epic battle! So is the red-monochrome effect supposed to represent Joker's nightmare realm, or is there some other reason for this?
