Neat, death sprites! It's definitely a great touch (and one of those things that ought to be built in).

I put a little more time than usual into making a tree. I'm still trying to figure out how to draw leaves, but I accidentally switched palettes and noticed the master palette I'm using has some great fall colors.

My game has a 16-color palette, but while I try to use as few colors as I can on a character I don't stick to a hard cap of three, four, or even five colors if I think more will look better.

Not currently, but I think that'd be a great touch!
Also, Taco Bot, I'm really loving the ZX Spectrum look of the dream, I think that giving it a totally different feel to the rest of the games assets will really help it feel surreal and ...dreamlike!
