SUGGESTIONS!
The cartoony lion shield, in my opinion, takes away from the otherwise professional looking spectral knight type guy. The line work and over all rough shape of the lion face just doesn't match the knight at all. I would suggest a more traditionally shaped shield.
The cloaked moon guy has a minor problem, in my opinion. the cloak on the right side (his left) is coming over his face too much. Since he's facing slightly to the right (his left) the cloak would actually be covering part of his face. This looks weird and out of place on an already surreal character. I think if you simply remove the double lined cloak part on the right side, the character might be improved.
Overall, I think they look great. You've clearly grown as a graphic artist.

Who would make this sort of... trap? Creature? Item gone wrong?

So I've been practicing with animation:
Spent way too much time on this

As animation tends to go. Quite impressive though, especially with the dithering on her skirt. It's just really pleasing to watch. Although there is a frame right before she shoots where the white dot on her left shoe disappears. Don't know if that was intentional.

I really do love how this is animated.
How long would you say the whole process took you? And did it leave you feeling burned-out? Or are you feeling ready to animate more stuff now?

Oh, cripes, must've missed that. No, wasn't intentional, just forgot to add the white dot, heh.

Roughly six hours total, I guess, but not all in one sitting. Did it in two three hour chunks. Surprisingly, it didn't burn me out all that much. The process is rather meditative. Tiring, sure, but also relaxing in a way. As for animating more stuff, I did go and animate another simple one, and I'm gearing up to do a fourth one some time soon. Not sure what yet though, perhaps more fanart, or maybe something of my own.

Too bad my furry penis jokes: The RPG got lost when my laptop died. Hopefully I can find a way to salvage the file.

Of course now that we've got up to 8 different layers, my maptiles are getting a bit more variety than they used to.

Throwing the graphics I did for the random collab up here, since I doubt I'm going to do much more with the game at this current time.
I did a lot more work on some parts of this than others, so there's no real attack graphics and hardly anything in the way of NPCs, but I guess you can edit what's there into something expansive enough for a small game.

That's a very nicely detailed tileset, though I kinda lose track of the gray-blue hero in all those gray stone textures.
Anyway,
cross-posting hype.

Game stuff:
I notice there is a slight inaccuracy between the left and right facing at the moment but I'll fix that soon.
And some weird art I've been working on, sort of Giger inspired:
