That specter reminds me of the game Wizardry. The NES port with its upgraded graphics rather than the PC original.

I don;t understand TMC's bit abotu the dotted line, I think it looks fantastic the way it is.

I did that thing near the bottom as kind of an afterthought and I was getting tired and just wanted to have the sprite looking done-ish before bed. I think it looks OK but I definitely intend on trying to improve it. I was thinking something kind of like a dither effect but on an outline, I might need to try a different approach though.

Thanks ;)

The character creation is heavily inspired by TES II ( which I'm currently playing), and already implented.
Now only the game itself is left :D

Oh, I wasn't saying that the dotted line looked bad or wrong, actually it looks fine, I was just wondering about it.

Here's the latest backdrop I've been working on for the undercroft of Hollowkeep and I feel very conflicted about it. I think I started to get a little overambitious and tunnel visioned during the design and drawing process and I think that after adding details it now looks overly busy, and attempting more complicated room features made perspective a pain. However, simply scrapping it would be a huge waste of time, especially since it doesn't look really bad. Just... I can't do this with every single backdrop, I gotta do about 30 more of these. I need a better process.

Oh yeah, I updated Mr. Spectre. More consistent crumbly-looking dithering near the bottom.

It look really cool! Don't scrap it-- but yes you need a less time consuming process.

After deciding to change the perspective in my game, I have no more use for these, so I'll drop some graphics here, free to grab ;D

I figured out how to make custom dithering patterns in GraphicsGale. Unfortunately, the program doesn't support any of my tablet's buttons so general drawing stuff would just be too awkward. So I think I'm gonna try doing sketches and flats in SAI and then move it to GraphicsGale for dithering and highlights.

Dunno what it is about GraphicsGale but I've never been able to successfully draw a useable sprite in it even though that's what it exists for. Meanwhile, SAI as a pixel art program is utter garbage, but I still manage to get a lot done in it (except dithering, doing it by hand with a tablet pen is torture)

The Sun and The Moon.
A loose representation of the Major Arcana tarot cards.

Awesome! Do you plan on doing versions of other arcana?

So far, I have The Chariot, The High Priestess, The Empress, The World, The Sun, and The Moon.

It's neat, but at the same time hard to come up with good interpretations that are creative. Not to mention that these tarot characters are pushing my limits. The Sun is probably the most detailed warrior/knight character I've ever sprited so far.

Neat. That's a very ghostly interpretation of The Moon. Is that face meant to allude to the Man in the Moon? I find it looks like a skull, and it reminds me of The Scream.
