The Hamster Wheel Is Back
After trying to reach Cube with no luck, I decided to go ahead and restart the Hamster Wheel. Even if Cube comes back and continues on with the Hamster Burrow, I don't think what I'm doing here will really affect what he is doing anyways.
The Hamster Wheel's main goal will be just like before: to centralize all OHRRPGCE information under one roof. In addition, I will be pushing the "Hamster Wheel Reviews" section pretty hard, as I hope to have every OHRRPGCE game reviewed someday. The biggest difference will be that all reviews will be as in-depth as possible, and none will ever be only a few lines or a single paragraph. I want to provide decent quality, dependable reviews for each game.
Just like before, the Hamster Wheel will have a list of OHRRPGCE games, news, previews, reviews, and developers. Right now there isn't very much, but you can at least get an idea of how the site will work. I plan to add content often, but I do not intend to kill myself trying by going overboard with content all the time.
Unlike before, THW will NOT host games, though I may add this later should something happen to CP and/or Slime Salad. Also, all suitable domains for the site were already taken, so for the time being it can be found at the address below.

Well, let me ask you this, as Cube was supposed to have done it, would you like to try out the first demo for Merciful Mungbeans (yes, the name is a wip name)? Since the original first demo, the graphic have been updated a tad, and it is a private demo. I basically would like some opinion on the game, as well as perhaps get a little hype up for it.

Cool!
I notice there aren't sections for articles, contests, or links/websites yet. Are those coming back? I really like the articles list you had put together previously.
Is it a good idea to have a separate forum though? Seems like a good place for posts to get lost.
Any chance of cooperation with Chronoboy on his OHR database site? I'm still interested in helping him put together a database, but I have no idea how feasible it would be to combine that and these Wordpress site (which I have no experience with); I guess they'll likely need to remain separate.

Yep most definitely coming back! I've just been focusing on other things first.I notice there aren't sections for articles, contests, or links/websites yet. Are those coming back? I really like the articles list you had put together previously.
That forum is really just a way for people to offer suggestions or ask questions about the site if they don't want to email me. I don't see it having any effect on CP or SS.Is it a good idea to have a separate forum though? Seems like a good place for posts to get lost.
I'm not sure how that would work either, but if you guys end up actually making that database, I'll probably step those sections down on my site and keep it going as a review/preview site at the very least.Any chance of cooperation with Chronoboy on his OHR database site? I was planning on making some sort of API to fetch information from the database by other websites, such as the latest games added, among any other suggestions people may have for the API.Meatballsub wrote:I'm not sure how that would work either, but if you guys end up actually making that database, I'll probably step those sections down on my site and keep it going as a review/preview site at the very least.Any chance of cooperation with Chronoboy on his OHR database site? I'm undecided at this point. Though it would be fantastic and obviously helpful to have a second pair of hands for this website, I'm not sure whether that is what I want to do at this point.
Though there's nothing wrong with community-driven content, I don't want to start relying on other people for stuff and that potentially become its downfall.
I do appreciate the offer and I'll definitely be in touch should the situation change.

This might work.marionline wrote:Just an idea:
Why not have something to post articles to, but on a non-regular basis?
Like if there's a new article, it's fine, and if not no one is disapointed?
Hamster Speak and Hamster Burrow where on monthly basis, I think.
I'll kick around the idea and see how I'd like to implement it. I'll let you know, BMR!

Just thought I'd mention again that I am taking requests on new content for The Hamster Wheel. While I have a ton that I can (and will) do on my own and many games I intend to review without any requests, I still feel it is good to have requests open as well.
I'm open to preview and/or review ANY OHRRPGCE game, both old and new. Also, If I've reviewed a game of yours in the past and you disliked the review itself, request for me to do a second playthrough and in turn, a second opinion on the game. I don't mind doing that either.
