There are a lot of problems with this game. You can't save your game. The "Potion" command doesn't work, I couldn't find any inns in town and the only way to restore your HP is leveling up. The maps are big and empty. I got killed by a mountain lion and I didn't feel like starting over from the beginning.
The potion command needs a potion on the inventary to work, and read the sing at the plains to find your bearings. the town is your first destination. remenber that this game is based on the text RPG minigame of Fallout 3.
Aha, I replayed the game through to the end this time. I got thrown off the first time because I didn't know there was a door in the side of one of the buildings in town. I still couldn't figure out how to save though. Is there a way for the player to save?

A lot of my points earlier still stands though. A lot of the maps are bigger than they need to be. The cave where you find the book is a serious of long and empty hallways. The swamp was confusing because the tiles weren't always consistent with the wall map. Sometimes you can walk through the trees and other times you can't and it's not always clear which is which. And the battles are all hold-down-the-spacebar deals.

All in all, it's not a bad effort. I liked the conversation menus where you could choose what you want to talk about. But I think you could do much better with the battles and map designs.

Super Penguin Chef
This was like a mix of Recettear and Atelier Iris. The cooking system is kind of like Atelier’s alchemy where you combine ingredients to make stuff. And it has Recettear’s deceptively cheerful façade that covers up what is actually a grim and depressing story (and there’s the whole debt thing). Anyways, I liked the party setup, the level up system, and the text boxes. Having items disappear from your inventory is a pain in the slime, but Moogle knows this already.

I haven't done too much of the cooking other than the first contest, but I made it to the end of the first dungeon. I kind of want to wait for the other three dungeons to be finished before I keep playing.

December is bugfix month, right? I want to make sure I'm not breaking any rules if I upload an update before the end of the month.

I'd really like to finish at least one more dungeon in that time. I have, I think, all or almost all of the enemies, all of the treasures, and the boss ready to go. (In fact, the Chickendome boss might already be present. I'm not completely sure.) So it should be a simple procedure to finish at least that much.

For Candyland, I don't have a battle backdrop, so that's a bit more work. (Technically, I hate the one I have for Chickendome, since it's literally just a low-res, zoomed-in excerpt of the map, but it's at least functional.) Cowmageddon is a bit bigger of a problem, since I haven't finished a boss for it yet.

How was the Orchard boss? How many game-days did it take you to clear the Orchard?

I beat the Orchard Boss on the day after the first contest. I used the prize money to get two of the best forks and one of the best knives that you can buy. The Alligator had learned Roar 3 and that just nerfed the boss fight to all heck.

I think there was a Banded or Studded armor that you find in the forest that doesn't change any of your stats.

Regarding re-releases:

For the record, in Legendary Heroes, everything past the part where you get the turtle is new. There are also a few new things in the first part (but not a lot).

In Final Dragon Legacy, when does the new content start?

As for Abel, are we sure that this is even an entry? The game description says the project is canceled. If it's not canceled when does the new content start?

This goes for Vikings of Midgrad too. When and where is the new things?

Has anyone suggested "Hide unused equipment slots/stats screen stats" bitsets? Because if not could I change my request to that? I totally want that. My game only uses three equipment slots and it's ugly to have the other two there with nothing to do.

I imagine once everything is converted to slices we will have a much easier time doing whatever we want with the default menus.

By the way, I want to say that Spoonweaver's video LPs have been really great. It's awesome to be able to see someone play through your game. It gives you the perspective of a player, and not necessarily one who's going to bother to sit down and read all the documentation you wrote for the game (or even necessarily the dialogue). The videos where Forkweaver joins in are especially nice, since you get the perspective of someone who isn't familiar with the engine's quirks.

I put an hour or so into Ar-Puh-Guh! tonight. This game is strange and incredibly feature rich. I really dig being able to make a party of monsters, aliens, and robots. However, the amount of detail is frequently overwhelming and the unusual mechanics take a bit of time getting use to.

Anyone who plays this game will need to have some patience. But if they do, they will find that's a very unique game with lots of customization.

I'll send the author over a list of bugs via PM once I've played it more.

Mogri, the official deadline for games and their bugfixes is Dec. 7th (6am EST Dec. 8). As usual, I am willing to put the deadline up for contention if enough people need it stretched. I won't do it for one game, though. I don't get the sense that many contestants need the bugfix period longer, so this probably won't happen.

What you may be thinking of is the deadline for James to finish fixing the engine bugs and features before he starts owing people bounties. He pretty much sets his own deadline for that, but I believe his deadline is December 31st.

For the rereleases, I don't know much of anything about Final Dragon Legacy, so I'm taking it in good faith that it has the minimum amount of new content required to qualify. For Abel, I'm not really sure if it is a valid entry, but I'm including it anyway because BlastedEarth (the author) made a bugfix request in July with the intention of entering a game, and he reposted Abel on Castle Paradox in August, so according to the math, he's submitting it as a rereleased contest entry. Whether it has new content, again, I'm taking it in good faith that it does, but I don't have any proof of that matter. He'll have to clarify that himself the next time he makes an appearance. Considering there was a Cat 5 typhoon raging through the Philippines today, it may be a while before he's online to tell us for sure (assuming he's near the land-falling area, which he may not be). Just treat it the same way you'd treat any other game that you haven't played before.

Wobbler, it may be too late to change requests. If James changes it, I don't think he should have to pay the bounty on it if he doesn't get it implemented before January. But again, this is his arena and his decision.

I agree that Spoonweaver's Let's Play videos are great, and I think he needs to do more of them, even for noncontest games.

Oh, I'm not too sure I'm going to do many non-contest games, just because I wouldn't really know where to begin. That's kind of the great thing about contests. A bunch of games come out all at once, so you can spend a bunch of times playing games that are not only still being worked on, but are topical so they're likely to be being talked about on here by other people.

Anyways, I was asking about the re-release games because I wanted to start their let's plays at the beginning of their new content.

I might do 1 or 2 non-contests games at some point.

P.S. Btw Forkweaver (or Ashleigh, as I like to call her) would like it if the videos were to get some likes on Youtube. She's kind of bummed that they haven't gotten any. She'd want to do more if they got more likes, and thus I'd do more, thus more would get done.

Know what motivates me to do more work on things? This.
I appreciate feedback, and I appreciate appreciation. It makes me feel appreciated. :v:

Here's a sneak peek at something soon to come to it's website...

I'm glad to hear this, for some reason I had it in my head that it was midnight. I'll WORK ALL NIGHT BRO. I've actually already adjusted a lot of stuff in my game based on feedback and on watching Spoonweaver's videos.

Normally I would say it is too late to change requests, but I didn't have a good plan for how I was going to do your previous request, and I like this idea, so I will see what I can do :)

So... haven't gotten any feedback whatsoever on The K'hyurbhi Lands and it's almost the end of the bugfixing week already. I know people have downloaded it, so... anyone played it yet?
