The Realms of Horror (Ch. 1)

"There must be a reason the trap acts as it does, but it appears we can avoid being damaged, somehow."

Catt takes another magic missile to the side.
At this point, a specific timed delay between missiles begins to become noticeable.

Catt takes 3 dmg

[Bob the Hamster]

Catt barely notices the magic missile, she is so excited about Slickens's discovery.

She leaves the runed door, and goes to where he is

"Where!? Where? Show me the beehive!"

Catt eagerly fetches the empty vial from the cure potion that she quaffed earlier, so she will have a place to store some sweet delicious honey

Kamaron uses his gauntlet to heal Catt as per her request. He then turns it on himself as well to heal up what damage he took. He then says, "Hand me that pole."

Once he has it, he reaches into his pack to retrieve the square yard of canvas. Using the pole and his morningstar to hold up the canvas, he creates a screen between himself and the runes. He walks closer to the runes, holding the canvas in place until it covers them.

"There should be a few pitons in my pack, see if we can't hammer this canvas into place to cover those runes up."

[Spoonweaver]

Zot!
A magic missile unerringly flies around the canvas and strikes Karamon.

Karamon takes 4 dmg

Kamaron ignores it for now. The missiles my hit around the tarp, but once the material is flush against the wall he doubts they'll manage.

[Spoonweaver]

The magic missiles begin to strike the tarp. They do minimal damage to the object, but the tarp will unlikely be able to hold up against such attacks forever.

[BMR]

"This won't hold those little blasts off for long, I'd suggest those of us who know how to scout for other traps and whatnot do whatever it is you need to do before this tarp is completely destroyed."

[Bob the Hamster]

"Come on, Slick, don't jerk me around" says Catt sharply, annoyed that there is no bee-honey to be found. She puts away the empty vial, and returns to where Kamaron is working to continue checking for non-magic-missle-related traps on the door.

"Ooh!" She says, remembering that she had slipped off her Ring of Shield and Ring of Shield of Faith when she was messing around with the demonshit pot.

She puts back on both rings.

If she finds no other traps on the knobless door, she will take a whack at the door with Kamaron's battering ram.

[Gizmog]

Slickens starts looking, unsure of what exactly he's looking for, but sure he'll know it when he finds it. But he's not looking in any eyes if he can help it.

[Newbie Newtype]

"Here, let me use that." If Catt lets him, he'll take the battering ram and hold it up with great muscles, and will await until it is safe to use it to destroy the doorway.

[Spoonweaver]

Neither Slickens nor Catt find any new traps. They do however discover that the door likely lifts up to open, sliding into the ceiling. They also notice that there doesn't appear to be any sorts of locks on the door.

[Gizmog]

"Goblin-proof door. The fiend!" Slickens says, raising his tiny goblin arms above his tiny goblin head.

[Bob the Hamster]

Catt offers the battering ram to Horace, and helps him swing it

(Can be wielded by two people at once for a larger strength bonus)

[Newbie Newtype]

"Wait," he says, "do we know how this door is built? I can still use the battering ram later if needed."

He sets the battering ram at his side and casts detect magic to feel what is behind the door.

Should the door be lifted upward instead?
