Scrying wars are a very tricky thing. Many of the counter scrying spells are written in a very exact way. Such as, the psychic poison spell protects either an object a person or an area. However, not all three. For example, if an object with psychic poison on it passed through an area being scryed on, it would not activate.
Also, keep in mind that Harvey has information about the method of scrying.

Aren't some of you good? One of you?
This is an evil party isn't it!!!!?!!
Just checked, LYNDA is the closet to good at true neutral. I didn't realize... No wonder you're all so ok with Kalar.

If it's any consolation, Harvey'd only do if it he thought they could make it a suitably grotesque exhibition... or if he thought they'd kill him first... or if he thought he'd make a lot of money for doing it. Other than that, he's totally against killing the whole village.Spoonweaver wrote:Aren't some of you good? One of you?

Plumtown is Cordeliers, right? For a small town, they're pretty on the ball with having guards and guard escorts. Perhaps it isn't as small as it was made out to be?

But imagine the power! Bwahahaha! *insert thunder and lightning here*
I do wonder how I'm going to hide Jim when Kalar gets near the town though. Perhaps just tie him to a tree or something. I -think- he can handle a bear on his own, maybe even a dire bear, but I'd rather not test that.
EDIT:
Hmm, let me figure this out.
hp:
Jim: 155
Dire Bear: 105
Attack:
Jim: +13 2d6+7
Dire Bear 2 claws +19 melee (2d4+10) and bite +13 melee (2d8+5)
AC:
Jim: 21
Dire Bear: 17
Average per-round damage:
Jim: All attacks are touch attacks, so each round he's guaranteed to hit for around 13.
Dire Bear: +19 attack, even with the -2 from Jim's malign aura, will still guarantee a hit. The +13 though, not quite as guaranteed. Assuming good rolls, and each round hitting with a full attack, that's on average 27, cripes.
So, running that through a spreadsheet...
No, Jim cannot take a dire bear on his own. It would be close though, by the time he gets down to 0, the dire bear would be at 27 hp. However, the unholy burst might he explodes into on death, might be enough to take the dire bear out with him.
