Okay, things are lookin pretty bad for us right now. Rob can escape on Stumpy or make use of his cloak of the mountebank to get out, I dunno how MasterK's ghost stuff works but he's got the sword and that should pan out nicely. There's no reason for us all to die to a bunch of stupid bears. I want to ask before I waste potentially valuable campaign material though:

Should Voulton try to use the silvery potion? Should he drink it? Should he throw it at the bears? Throw it at Rachelle? We've got no idea what'll happen, but at this point it might be better than nothing. I give myself a 1 in 3 chance of surviving toe to toe with the bears.

Knowing what Kalar knows now about the silvery stuff, I would advise very strongly against using the silvery stuff on the bears. It might be of some benefit to Voulton, but I'm prolly giving it a 10% chance of going well, a 10% chance of going catastrophically, and an 80% chance of who-knows-what. However, my advice regarding the potion might be a big meta-gamey, seeing as how Kalar hasn't come into contact with the party yet.

As for using it on Rachelle's corpse, that might be interesting. No idea what would happen there, but it might be neat to see what would happen.

I would say escape would be the best option for now. Rob and Lynda are fine, they should be able to get out. Voulton though, I'm not sure. If Lynda can pick him up, then that would work.

Alternatively, there's another possibility. The ring of wishes.

Get it to transport the entire party (and minions), the remains of the wagon, and Rachelle's corpse, somewhere safe.

Should I use Lynda's ring?

She'll probably be so disraught over seeing Rachelle die that it'll probably be what she'll want to use.

We probably should've known better than to approach a pack of dire bears (and I should've known better than to jump headfirst onto one), but...

If there's anything left of Rachelle by the time the party can get back to her safely, go for the silver potion thing.

My vote goes to using the ring to teleport everyone to somewhere safe, Moriamis' place maybe. Not sure if Kalar would be included, but at least everyone will be safe. Alternatively, teleport to Galse, that's guaranteed to be safe. Also alternatively, teleport to Kalar.

It's one level higher than what Kalar can cast, but if he gets his hands on a scroll, here can Raise Rachelle out you guys want.

I am of the opinion that we could have handled this fight easily if we just approached it better. We took the worst possible strategy against dire bears, and charged in for close combat, with most of us focusing on different targets.

If we have focused on ranged attacks, stunning/disabling bears, or even just separating them so we could take them down one at a time, this would have been a cakewalk.

EDIT: well, maybe not a cakewalk, but at least a non-fatal encounter

At least Rachelle died as she lived; oblivious to the danger she put herself into until it was far too late.

As for the encounter... It certainly didn't help that we were more or less pushed into it while missing a party member, but yeah, not literally jumping into things probably would've helped us a lot.

Well, the wish has been posted. Tried to include utterly everyone, and I made sure to include even Stumpy and Kalar's minions.

I hope it works. I made it as specific as I could. I chose Moriamis's lair because we can buy gear there, and perhaps find Dan and Moriamis to speak with.

And there is a decent chance that somebody there could know high enough leveled spells to reincarnate Rachelle from the buts of her corpse (although if she ends up undead, I suspect she will be pissed!)

One note though, Moriamis isn't a wizard. And appearing in the middle of their lair with five blood hulks might not be looked on favorably, hehe. Might I suggest "near Moriamis' lair" instead of right inside it?

Alright, made it even more specific.

On the side note, because I haven't already done so, Rest In Pieces Rachelle.

Moriamis: "How dare you bring those in here!?" (attack Kalar)
Kalar: "What is this madness!?" (attack Moriamis)
Voulton: "Whyyyy!?" (Pulling axe out of the head of a wizard who is now standing where a bear just was only a second ago)
Lynda: "Wait! No! Everybody stop fighting" (cradle Rachelle's bloody severed head in her lap)
Dan: "Son?"
Rob: "I hate you Dad!"
Rachelle: X_X

You left out the part where Lynda and Moriamis get in to an aerial chick fight, where Lynda tries to rip the crown off Moriamis's head as they fly through the sky.
If there's anything left of Rachelle by the time the party can get back to her safely, go for the silver potion thing.
I gotta admit, I'm curious what would happen if Lynda uses the silver potion. Would she be inhabited by the patron deity of Kleptomania?

I am excited about the impending prospect of a Rottlerwits family reunion, and I have added details to Rob's backstory in preparation:
Rob's backstory wrote:Although Rob has never met his father, Dan Rottlerwits, he does have a general idea what Dan looks like. Rob's mother has a half dozen rather flattering pencil sketches of Dan's face that she drew during the course of their torrid week-long love affair. She also painted a full color portrait of Dan from memory when Rob was 3 years old. It briefly graced the wall of the dining hall, so that young Rob would always be able to see the face of his father and be reminded of his heritage. Later it graced the wall of a closet in a spare bedroom near the kitchens, so that teen-aged Rob could damn well take a candle in there and stare at it if he wanted to be reminded of why he was more than half a fool more than half the time.

Rob has no idea if his father even knows he exists. He has never been able to get a straight answer from his mother about what communications (if any) she has had with his father after his birth.

Rob knows he has numerous half-siblings of various ages, and he has chanced to randomly meet his fellow bastards on several occasions, but is not close with any of them.
