Tim-Tim: There isn't much in the pack of worth. A couple of trail rations, some old and rotten rope, and a healer's kit.

On closer inspection though, you notice a hidden compartment inside the pack. Upon opening it, you find a golden signet ring, a sealed envelope, and a couple of, what look to be, spell scrolls.

Beardthar
Appraise (1d20 + Ranks + INT) Beardthar: 14 + 0 + 1 = 15 The ring is rather well made. It feels to be solid gold, judging by its weight. By the size of it though, it was made for a man, definitely bigger than Spittle. The symbol it bears is not familiar to you, it looks to be a tree crossed by a spear and a sword, but that is the only detail you can make out in the poor light. You estimate its value to be at least 7,000 gp, though if it's an official signet ring, it could be worth a lot more.

Beardthar wrote:That ring is nice! I'll be it is worth a pretty pile of coin. I wonder who it belonged to? Somebody with big fingers certainly! I don't recognize the tree-spear-sword symbol on it
Beardthar then turns his attention to the envelope in his hands. He examines it closely, shakes it, tests to see how well it is sealed... does everything short of actually tearing it open.
You hear nothing inside the envelope, seems to contain nothing more than paper. It's sealed with a glob of red wax, on closer inspection, it bears the same insignia as the signet ring.

Realizing what the others are talking about, Beardthar tucks the letter into his pack for later inspection, readies his quarterstaff in his hand, calls rock-head to heel, and then falls silent himself.
From the west, a small kobold pokes its head in from behind a rock. For the most part, it looks more curious than anything else.
It steps out from behind the rock and takes a few cautious steps towards your group. You notice that it's far smaller than the kobolds you faced before, it's possible it might be a kobold child.

Ah, command undead.. well that's not going to help us right now, but I guess I'll hang on to them anyways. You never know when you'll run into... what's that? Oh no, Another Kobold!
