"Gah! I'm not going to let you get the jump on me again!" He yells, anticipating a Kobold attack enough to be able to avoid taking the same kind of damage as last time, "There's something not right with these kobolds! They're too brave and courageous!"

The others are talking. Why are they talking? There are disgusting vermin here for us to kill. Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar lays his blade into the nearest one.

Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar

Akbar takes his falchion and hacks at the kobold in front of him.

Akbar: 15 + 2 + 2 = 19 Hit! Akbar hits for (2d4[5] + 3) 8 damage

The blade takes the kobold full in the chest, cleaving into its lungs. It drops down with bloody froth bubbling out of its mouth.

Peanut fires twice in rapid succession, once to the Kobold right in front of him, and:

If Kobold #18 dies he will fire another shot at the emerging creature he sees towards the West.

If Kobold #18 lives he will fire his 2nd shot at it.

He will then take a five foot step upward.

Peanut

Peanut draws an arrow back on his bow and looses his first attack at the kobold near him.

Arrow 1: 13 + 3 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 17 Hit! Peanut hits for (1d6[4] + 0) 4 damage

It takes the kobold in the shoulder and spins him around. Without hesitation, Peanut looses another arrow at the badly hurt kobold.

Arrow 2: 4 + 3 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 8 Miss!

Unfortunately, being spun around worked in the kobold's advantage as the second arrow just barely misses it.

Beardthar

Beardthar begins chanting (again), and he begins to glow as magic begins to gather around him.

Kobold 10

The kobold dashes in from the north twirling a sling above its head. Its stops some distance from Spittle before hurling a bullet at the human.

Kobold: 16 + 1 + 1 = 18 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d3[3] + 0) 3 damage

The bullet manages to take Spittle in the knee, and though he's covered by armor, the blunt force of the bullet still does its damage.

Kobold 17

The kobold runs up from the south, but upon seeing his two companions lying on the floor dying, stops short. It sneers at Akbar, and then hurls its spear at the paladin.

Kobold: 15 + 1 + 1 = 17 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d6[1] + 0) 1 damage

The spear takes Akbar in the chest, but thankfully the armor he's wearing prevents the spear from doing any significant damage.

Lizardfolk

The lizardfolk moves to the west slightly, and through the dark passage gives the paladin an angry glare.

The then begins chanting and magic swirls around it. It then points at the paladin.

Will Save: 1d20[13] + 2 = 15 Fail!

Suddenly, all of Holy Saint Akbar's armor and his weapon start to feel a bit warm.

Spellcraft (1d20 + Ranks + INT)
  • Beardthar: 14 + 3 + 1 = 18 Success
    Tim-Tim: 4 + 6 + 1 = 11 Fail
The lizardfolk seems to be casting Heat Metal. It will continue to heat all of Akbar's metal equipment until it gets hot enough to start cooking him alive. That he's casting the spell would mean that he's a druid.

Not ceasing his chanting, Beardthar turns his glare towards the Lizardman. He recognizes the spell, and knows what it will do to Akbar. When the Dire Badger arrives, Beardthar will direct it to fight its way south, if he can, mindful that when the badger flies into a rage, it will not heed his directions any further

Tim-Tim

Tim-Tim fires off two missiles at the lizardfolk down the southern passage.

Missile 1: (1d4[4] + 1) 5 damage
Missile 2: (1d4[2] + 1) 3 damage

Total: 8 damage

Both slam into the lizardfolk, knocking it back a step.

Kobold 5

The kobold charges at Spittle, attacking with its spear.

Kobold 5: 15 + 1 + 2 + -0 = 18 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d6[5] + 0) 5 damage

It manages to cut into Spittle, doing a respectable amount of damage.

Kobold 12

The kobold runs out from the western passage and moves to attack Peanut.

Kobold: 13 + 1 + -0 = 14 Miss!

Peanut is able to dodge out of the way of the attack though, leaving the kobold rather annoyed.

Kobold 8

The kobold runs out from the northern passage and glares at Spittle before it shoots off a bullet from its sling.

Kobold: 7 + 1 + 1 = 9 Miss!

Having been pelted enough by sling bullets it would seem, Spittle manages to get out of the way of the projectile in time to avoid receiving any more damage.

Kobold 9

Encouraged by the number of its companions ganging up around Spittle, the kobold runs in from the north and hurls looses a sling bullet at the human fighter.

Kobold: 19 + 1 + 1 = 21 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d3[2] + 0) 2 damage

Off balance from his previous dodging, this time around the bullet manages to strike home into the fighter.

Spittle

Spittle takes a wild swing at the kobold directly in front of him.

Spittle: 12 + 3 + 3 = 18 Hit! Spittle hits for (1d10[10] + 4) 14 damage

It takes the kobold in the shoulder, tearing into bone and muscle severing the arm. The kobold falls to the floor in a bleeding and mangled heap.

Kobold 6

The kobold runs in from the northern passage. It whirls its sling over its head and hurls a bullet at Spittle.

Kobold 6: 1 + 1 + 1 = 3 Miss!

In its haste, the kobold severely miss-times the release of the sling and hits himself in the face.

Accidental Hit: [/b] Kobold hits itself for (1d3[3] + 0) 3 damage

Kobold 15 (Sergeant)

The kobold draws back on his shortbow and aims at Peanut. As he's drawing back on the shortbow, it begins to glow, with the glow intensifying as he pulls back on the arrow. As soon as he looses the arrow, the glow dies out. The arrow though, shines a cold and bright blue as it flies through the air.

Kobold: 14 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 17 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d4[2] + 0) + (1d6[3] cold damage) 5 damage

The arrow pierces Peanut, and a horrible coldness accompanies the sharp pain of the arrow.

Kobold 7

The kobold runs in and stabs at Holy Saint Akbar.

Kobold: 5 + 1 + 1 + -0 = 7 Miss!

As the kobold thrusts, Akbar manages to deflect the blow with a well-timed parry.

Round 2

Kobold 11

The kobold groans pitifully, bleeding on the cavern floor.

Kobold 16

Unable to move, the kobold simply lies still, as if in shock, as it continues to bleed out.

Kobold 18

The kobold growls and takes a stab at Peanut.

Kobold: 13 + 1 + 1 + -0 = 15 Miss!

Peanut is just barely able to evade the thrust, avoiding taking any damage.

Feeling uncomfortably warm, Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar steps forward and hacks at the kobold that stands between him and the lizard.

Peanut yelps in pain, and his body jolts in shiver. He quickly shoots at Goblins 12 and 18 in succession.

Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar

The paladin takes a swing at the kobold in front of him.

Akbar: 6 + 2 + 2 = 10 Miss!

His luck seeming to have run out, Akbar misses the kobold by a rather wide margin.

Peanut

Peanut quickly looses a couple of arrows in opposite directions at the two kobolds trying to surround him.

Arrow 01: 10 + 3 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 14 Hit! Peanut hits for (1d6[4] + 0) 4 damage
Arrow 02: 18 + 3 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 22 Hit! Peanut hits for (1d6[5] + 0) 5 damage

Both arrows strike home, the first punching into the kobold's chest and lodging in its lung, and the second burying itself in the kobold's eye socket. Both creatures drop to the ground with barely a sound.

Beardthar

A dire badger BAMFs into existence a few feet away from Beardthar. He directs it to attack to the south and in does so.

Dire Badger Claw 1: 14 + 2 + 2 = 18 Hit! The dire badger hits for (1d4[1] + 2) 3 damage
Dire Badger Claw 2: 11 + 2 + 2 = 15 Hit! The dire badger hits for (1d4[4] + 2) 6 damage
Dire Badger Bite: 7 - 1 = 6 Miss!

The kobold falls to the floor, savaged and bloodied up by the dire badger's attacks.
