Spittle

Spittle readies his weapon against a charge.

Kobold 14

The kobold dashes out of the shadows, swinging a sling over its head. A few feet from your party, it lets the sling fly at Tim-Tim.

Kobold 14: 12 + 0 + 1 = 13 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d3[3] + 0) 3 damage

Kobold 13

The kobold rushes in from behind you and takes a stab with his spear at Peanut.

Kobold: 14 + 1 = 15 Miss!

The kobold just barely misses Peanut, though the spear passes close enough to be rather threatening.

Beardthar

Beardthar begins chanting, he begins to glow as he starts summoning a Dire Badger.

Startled and hurt, Tim-Tim casts Color Spray at the goblin that just hit him. Then, provided the spells works, he moves behind Beardthar. (z20) If the spell fails to work, Tim-tim instead simply inches closer to Beardthar.(y21)

Tim-Tim

A spray of color springs forth from Tim-Tim's hands, colliding with the kobold.

Kobold 14 Will save: 12 - 1 = 11 Fail

The kobold drops to the ground, unconscious and blind.

As Tim-Tim dashes behind Beardthar, the kobold that came from behind stabs out with his spear at the gnome.

Kobold 13: 10 + 1 + -0 = 11 Miss!

The gnome proves too fast though, and dodges the kobold's spear.

Kobold 1

The kobold dashes up from behind you and stands next to the one who dashed up earlier. He brandishes his spear and stabs at Peanut.

Kobold 1: 16 + 1 + -0 = 17 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d6[3] + 0) 3 damage

The spear stabs into Peanut, drawing blood. The kobold sneers and laughs at the halfling's pain.

"Yikes! Owowch!!" He yelps, the predicament the kobolds having created managing to strike him. He doesn't relent, more angry than terrified at the Kobolds that have attacked him, using a Full Action to Rapid Strike Kobolds 13 & 1 each, and then takes a 5 foot step to the spot next to Tim Tim.

Peanut

Peanut looses two arrows in rapid succession at the two kobolds.

Shot 1: 13 + 3 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 17 Hit! Peanut hits for (1d6[2] + 0) 2 damage
Shot 2: 20 + 3 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 24 Hit! Peanut hits for (1d6[4] + 0) 4 damage

Both manage to strike home, pushing each kobold back a couple of feet with the force of the shots. Neither go down, but Kobold 13 is looking particularly the worse for wear.

Kobold 4

The kobold dashes into view and looses a sling bullet at Spittle.

Kobold 4: 15 + 1 + 1 = 17 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d3[3] + 0) 3 damage

The bullet smashes into Spittle, leaving quite a lump.

Kobold 2

The kobold rushes at Beardther and stabs at him with his spear.

Kobold 2: 18 + 1 + -0 = 19 Hit! Kobold hits for (1d6[6] + 0) 6 damage

Concentration (1d20 + Ranks + CON)
  • Beardthar: 12 + 0 + 3 = 15 Fail
Unfortunately, the pain is too much and Beardthar loses his focus and the spell he was casting fizzles out of existence.

Kobold 3

The kobold rushes forward, but stops just short of the paladin and the fighter. It then looses a sling bullet at Holy Saint Akbar.

Kobold 3: 6 + 1 + 1 = 8 Miss!

The kobold misses though, and the bullet flies harmlessly past your group.

Beardthar will attempt to repeat the spell on his next turn. If it works, he will send the dire badger after the closest imp.

"Filthy vermin! Stay away from Brother Beardthar!" Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar moves to the space south of Beardthar and attacks the kobold to his west.

Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar

Akbar runs in and takes a powerful two-handed blow against the kobold.

Akbar: 19 + 2 + 2 = 23 Hit! Akbar hits for (2d4[5] + 3) 8 damage

The blow catches the kobold in the shoulder, all but severing the arm holding a its spear. The kobold drops to the ground, stump spraying crimson everywhere, dying in a puddle of its own blood.

Kobold 5

The kobold screeches something to its companions, and then runs off, disappearing into the dark tunnels.

Spittle's going to try the ol' trip him and hit him in the face trick on Kobold #3, while (trying?) to stay between #4 and the party.

Spittle

Spittle moves up to the two kobolds and attacks one of them.

Melee Touch Attack: 9 + 3 + 3 + 0 = 15 Hit!
Opposed STR/DEX Check: 18 + 3 + 3 + 0 = 24 Success!
The Kobold falls prone!

Spittle: 10 + 3 + 3 = 16 Hit! Spittle hits for (1d10[9] + 4) 13 damage

The halberd slams into the kobold's leg, splintering the bone and hewing the leg off in a gory spray of blood.

With the way the kobold fell, and the angle at which it was lying when Spittle cut its leg off, the arterial spray causes a good deal of the smelly, stinking blood, to spray all over Spittle's torso and part of his face.

Kobold 14

The kobold gurgles nonsensically, still reeling from the color spray that Tim-Tim hit it with.

Kobold 13

The kobold growls at Akbar, and stabs at him.

Kobold: 20 + 1 + -0 = 21 Critical hit! Kobold hits for (1d6[12] + 0) 12 damage

By lucky chance, the spear takes Akbar in the chest, punching through armor and causing severe damage.

Beardthar

Beardthar begins casting his spell, chanting the low droning words for the summoning of a dire badger. Light swirls around him as the spell begins to take form.

Tim-Tim

Kobold 1 Will save: 18 + 1 + -0 = 19 Success!
Kobold 13 Will save: 10 + 1 + -0 = 11 Failure!

The first kobold braces itself against the spray, and manages to resist Tim-Tim's attack.

The second kobold though, is not as lucky and falls to the ground, stoned out of its mind.

Kobold 1

Seeing that things aren't going as well as could be hoped, the kobold turns tail and tries to flee.

As he tries to flee though, Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar takes the opportunity to attack the kobold.

Akbar: 13 + 2 + 2 = 17 Hit! Akbar hits for (2d4[7] + 3) 10 damage

The falchion takes the kobold in the back, cutting deep into the creature's spine spraying blood everywhere. It falls to the ground, unmoving and just barely breathing.

Kobold 1

The kobold gasps, its life bleeding out onto the cave floor.

Image

Listen (1d20 + Ranks + WIS)
  • Akbar: 9 + 0 + 1 + 1 = 11 Success
    Beardthar: 7 + 0 + 3 = 10 Success
    Peanut: 17 + 4 + 1 + 2 = 24 Success
    Spittle: 5 + 0 + 0 = 5 Fail
    Tim-Tim: 9 + 0 + 3 + 2 = 14 Success
Deep in the caves, coming from the northern passage it seems, you hear what sounds like a gong reverberating deep. Your guess is that it's an alarm of some sort, possibly sounded by the one kobold who ran off a while ago.

Beardthar continues his Badger chant, but in the back of his mind he really hopes that was the "Retreat" gong they just heard, and not something more ominous

Penut takes a few steps back into the open, left of Beardthar, glancing down at his wound and wincing, before pulling an arrow on the string and firing at goblin #4
