Re: Work for Hire
Hey friends. I'd like to contribute music to your game project. Today I quietly released my first collection of fakebit tracks, using fm/pcm samples from the sega genesis. Each song is made to loop nicely and sound great at the highest compression of .ogg format. While some of these tunes are spoken...

Re: Is there a guide for first-persons and point-and-click adventures?
I found it really easy to make an adventure game like Time Girl 1998 with OHRRPGCE. Looking back, I definitely see how I could have done it smarter and better. But where to start? Tinker around with plotscripting and learn to use arguments. With arguments, each npc can run the same script, but respo...

Killer of Dead
For Holly's Haunted Holloween Jam. The Meredosia Hotel hasn't had a tenant in months, due to its reputation for being haunted. It's your job to defend your haunt and take-out all the big spooks to keep the managers from calling the authorities. In this low-bit, side-scrolling rpg, you must choose yo...

Don't forget. The Winner also gets a really cool body pillow of Hati/Natalie. I might even throw in some pine cones.

Re: Semi-random maps
This is totally doable. My advice: Start as small as possible, and start with your hero in the center of the map. Then I'd use the each step script to track where your hero is. As your generated room expands, make sure to keep the coordinates of its corners stored in global variables. Then as your h...

I let Spoons down by failing to do an unboxing video. For those who don't know, this is what a winner looks like.

Terminal Attractor: dev thread
It'd be really cool if any of you all wanted to try my game as it is and tell me what you think, especially regarding what it needs and what doesn't work. I won't post it as-is, but if you DM me, I'll send you a link to the game. I think it would be really helpful to have an (credited) advisory team...

Re: SUMMER SLAM - the next gen of ohr contest
Great work everyone. I really didn't expect to win. Let's make some more games. Also, I'm taking the body pillow. It'd be really cool if we could pass it along to all future contest winners, so everyone gets to take in its glory. <3

Re: My new project. Seeking advice.
botboy0000.png Update: I have a title. For most of the game, you're on your way from one terminal to another (terminals are where you buy items, upgrade your bots, and charge their batteries). A lot of times, you have to decide whether or not to explore that dungeon or go back to the terminal. Actu...

Re: My new project. Seeking advice.
I would focus on making a vertical slice first. One very linear area with a couple of encounters, a terminal, etc. Make an environment where you can test how everything feels before making a huge commitment to the story and progression. I agree entirely. With Tough Girl Gina, I got everything worki...

Re: My new project. Seeking advice.
thanks! The robots CAN be swapped in and out mid-battle. Also, two robots alone wouldn't get you from point A to point B, because their internal batteries wouldn't last through all that action. External batteries can be bought, but they're best saved for emergencies, growing more expensive as you de...

My new project. Seeking advice.
I have no idea what to name my new game project. The premise: In the future, the outside world is occupied mainly by robots. Humans spend their lives in preservation pods until they meet someone special (through the friend network) whom they want to spend the rest of their lives with, in the flesh. ...

My Summer Slam 2021 Reviews
I can't seem to post these in the reviews section, and I don't want to clog the slam discussion, so here it is. I hope these reviews are more helpful than they are annoying. edit: fyi, I'm not a judge. I just wanted to write reviews. STOAT.RPG I don't know if I would say STOAT is an objectively good...
