When I try to play, I see the episode selection screen, but I can go no further. Pressing esc or alt brings up the menu, suggesting to me that the new game script is failing to run or terminating early or something :(

I had a string of crashes happen to me during a script, and also when flipping through music loaded in my game on custom. I decided to boot up and safe mode and see if it made a difference. Not a single crash, but then again, that sometimes happens even out of safe mode. I hate unneccessary backgro...

Okay I did that and it seemed to show the numbers up just fine. I finally got it to work. I took away the if (read timer(0) and reel => etc) and set it just to if (reel) => etc) and it works great. The only other question I have is if it is possible to to use the key press command and it not work i...

In that case, it looks to me as if you were doing the right thing. Can you verify that the on keypress script is really getting run? Maybe something like: script, key handler, begin if (key is pressed(19)) then ( Reel+=1 $5="Reel:" append number(5, Reel) show string at(5, 0, 0) ) end That ...

set on keypress script (78) I assume that 78 is the ID number of the script. This does technically work, but the recommended way is: set on keypress script (@wodod) the @ sign automatically gets the ID number of a script. You are already using it in your "set ti...

Thanks for the help. I finally resolved the issue of it locking up and it seemed to stem from the while command. The script is starting to shape up how I planned it except for a few things. #1 - Is there a way that I can set the script to repeat infinitely unless a key is pressed? You can do someth...

Virus authors are getting better at writing polymorphic viruses. If a virus can change itself faster than the antivirus programs can add signatures to their databases, then a virus scanner cannot fully protect you. Some scanners are smarter than others about guessing what might be a virus based on i...

But, I wouldn't have known about the Virtual Linux Partition option without doing some research ;). Research like inserting a Ubuntu install CD and seeing the button that says "Install Inside Windows" ;) Yes, I agree Ubuntu has made leaps and bounds and is very user friendly, I still don'...

Right now, you're looking at wiping your machine. You need to wipe it to install Ubuntu or you could wipe it and reinstall Windows. Obviously, the third option is to continue trying to clean your system, which may be a futile effort. Before firing up Ubuntu and praying for the best, I really sugges...

I'm downloading Ubuntu right now, actually. :) Can you tell me a little more about it James? Will I still be able to run the OHR from it? How secure is it? Will all my Windows program work, and will it be able to also use Mac and Linux ones? How does it with Dos programs? The OHR runs fine on Linux...

But you do what you want :)

Haha! this is pretty darn nifty. I haven't got past level 6 yet (and yes, I am playing the version with the one-way walls) Bouncing Tim around is a lot of fun. The play control feels pretty nice, although I would love it if I could press "Up" to jump. CTRL+ALT+arrow keys is the default sho...

I know voting is long over-- and I haven't even played all of them yet, but I just want to say that I really enjoyed Surfs Up Yuk. I played it all in one sitting last sunday, and it was made out of smiles.
