Re: SUMMER SLAM - the next gen of ohr contest

just how far in the past counts as The Past?

like, could I make something set in 2018 and have it count because it takes place before the covid pandemic

I've decided I'm in after all. Do your worst, roulette wheels!

edit: actually, could there be the option of paying $5 or so to re-roll what the wheels come up with, if we don't like what we get

Could there be an option added so that, for a given item, only n numbers of it can be in the inventory at a time? ie: so you can only have one stack of 99, or one stack of 9 (a la The 7th Saga), or two and a half stacks of 99, and so forth?

Linking reviews to their respective games

I've been informed that on Slime Salad, reviews for games don't automatically appear on the game pages they're of, and that I'm supposed to contact someone to get them linked. Is this by design? There're a lot of reviews, especially ones made recently, that aren't linked, and it seems odd that it's ...

Review of TutOHRial

This review is of the July 29, 2020 version. Let's be honest with ourselves: for people new to the OHRRPGCE, starting a file in CUSTOM.EXE can be bewildering. A great number of options are available from the start and have in-engine documentation, allowing for a great deal of experimentation and fle...

I got it to work! Thank you both for helping me with this.

After applying your bugfixes the while loop was causing the script to hang, until I remembered to put "else wait (1)" at the end of the ifs. Really need to make a note to myself to do that automatically.

You have to do this check every tick, using either a timer or a while loop, and stop checking once the animation has finished. However if you used "hero will move" instead then you could just use an on-keypress script. (coming back to this after not doing any work for a couple weeks :???:...

This is the pits.

So. In my game, I want to have pits that the player can fall down, and for them to play a little falling animation. This effect can be done in multiple ways, many of which would lead to a Wile E. Coyote effect as the player only starts falling once they've fully walked onto the pit tile; while this ...

a) taking a break from a big project can help you get perspective on the big project and not let things get stale. this is actually why I signed up for the spring collab contest, since it allowed me to test out a couple things and see how they'd work in practice and then I stumbled upon something c...

I'd sign up but a) I really need to work more on my game I'm currently working on, and b) if I drew "can't contain plants", then the universe would collapse in on itself
