wouldn't random events like wandering npcs and different monster groups ( or perhaps a randomly turning fire breathing dinosaur) ruin any hope of this working?

Lots of us have checked it out, but then we found lots of game breaking bugs and got upset and plus Mogri stopped fixing it as far as I know, and no one's been back since.
