I just had an idea. How about if our sprite database was organized the same way the engine organizes them. Gives us the categories: Tilemaps Walkabouts Hero Graphics Small Enemy Medium Enemy Big enemy Attacks Weapons Box Edges Potraits And then, the tutorial game can just use some of the open source...

Well there seems to be 2 ideas here; one being to create some sort of open source sprite database and another to create a new game to act as the new companion to the ohr program. As for the sprite database, I'm completely for it. However, I'm just not too sure that it will bring in that many new peo...

Fenrir, your suggestion kind meshes with another suggestion (hosting sprite packs) and because of this I think it might be a good plan to do this. So basically, the plan would be to make several sprites for new designers to use and then put them into an rpg file, along with base attacks, textboxes, ...

I'm glad to see there's so much interest in this. Let's see, as far as sites that have been suggested to spread the word on, we've got: SomethingAwful TVTropes Twitter vgf.com steam LudumDare (sort of) indiegames.com This seem like a great list to work from. Did I miss any? i think if the community ...

Growing the Community
I made this thread to basically try to brainstorm up some ideas for expanding the OHR community. By this I mean, getting more developers and players to use the OHRRPGCE and the sites that host such things, like this one. I have some plans and I'd like to know both what you think of them and what pla...

Ok, so after reviewing The tiny game contest, I'll be pushing this contest back a bit. I had no idea the littlest contest had such a big time frame. So since that contest's voting will be ending in March, this contest will take place right after that. April 1st -April 8th I'm sorry for pushing this ...

Still looking for people to take part in this. Keep in mind that a date for the week hasn't been set in stone yet, but right now it's the week of Feb. 10 - Feb. 17 . I just noticed that I never mentioned the prizes. Well as last year, the winning team will have fan art made of their game and submitt...

I think it really did all boil down to this type of gameplay just having a bunch of flaws. It seemed to work at low levels when everyone had very limited options, but at higher levels when dungeons are normally more complex and dangerous, things seem to fall apart. I do think that lack of communicat...

Kinvesard (Spoonweaver) Ah, thank you for the comments. And actually thanks you to EVERYONE that played and commented on Kinvesard. As far as content, things really fell apart. I had planned to have a lot more time to work on this, but things came up and basically time got away from me. There's rea...

Well, time to start sharing my feelings about the campaign, I had tried to keep them to myself for the most part so as not to potentially spoil anything, but things have slown to an almost complete halt so what's the harm at this point. Anyways, I've been pretty confused by what you guys have been d...
