Hmm, that idea is very similar to the colab contest. However, I like the idea of helping new people make their game dreams come true. What we could do is basically offer a service to make people's games for them. Making short tech demos of people's game ideas could go a long way in bringing people i...

That's all pretty awesome sheam. I suppose we can't really ask for more from people in the community. What I'm thinking is somehow creating a large event or something that we invite people from outside the community to come in and join. We have the Heart of the OHR contest coming up, so maybe we can...

Look moogs, I can see that the joke went a bit far here. I just think you're over-reacting a bit. I'm going to play the bad judgement card here, though. I am on a lot of pain medication still and even though I think I'm thinking perfectly clearly, I guess what I say in jest might be misunderstood by...

You've got to be kidding me. There's a reason you chose janitor over, say, accountant. I don't have to tell you this. I clearly was. The rest of your response is basically exactly how you tried to describe my post. You're off base. But I can see from your banning threat that you're past reasoning w...

Ah, this is actually a common misconception people have within the community. I assume it's because people tend to post about their works in progress way more than they post about games that someone completed years ago. You see there are several full OHR rpgs. Sword of Jade Spellshard Walthros Dunge...

Well thats a good point Meowskivich.
It's only really come up a hand full of times. Mainly, it's been more like I educated people about the engine instead of defended it. For the most part, people don't even know we exist.

:V You must be kidding here moogs. He essentially quoted me, in much the same way you did. It was clearly directed at me as much as your comment is. As for the comment about becoming a janitor. First, I feel like you're all taking that too offensively. There's nothing wrong with being a janitor. Sec...

Though if they weren't, taking a stance that doesn't defend one side but instead only opposes the other isn't a great way to keep things civil. ...I don't think you get what "civil" means. I don't think you "get" what civil means if you quote the guy calling someone a douche as ...

Expanding the Community

In another thread the idea of the community slowly shrinking to nothing came up (despite the fact that this was a thread written by a new person to the community) and so I figured we should have a thread where we all share our ideas of how to grow the community and more importantly list what we've d...

:V Keep it civil? Seriously? The way you two are acting makes it seem like we're (or I'm) calling the guy racial slurs and stalking his facebook page. Things are clearly civil here already. Though if they weren't, taking a stance that doesn't defend one side but instead only opposes the other isn't ...

As for harsh words on your art work and such sheam there's not much to say yet. Your maptiles look awesome, if not a bit plain or unfinished. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GPZ5bHuoMBU/UzXP9Th9S2I/AAAAAAAAAZ0/1ek4ujwbC8U/s1600/Floating+City+Underbelly+1.png The other graphics you have posted in the past ...

Ah, I was thinking it was more of an underground thing and thus hanging down into some sort of great abyss.

Meowskivich wrote:No need to be a jerk about it.
Well Meowskivich, that's just it isn't it. I personally think there is an actual need to be a jerk about it.
And for the record, your one line response is actually the jerkiest post in this thread.

Heh, you guys are awesome. This isn't really something new though right? There's always people popping up that want to be a game developer but lack any sort of skill to do so. That said, this is one of the worst game proposals I've ever seen. You can't go, "here's the plot" and then not gi...
