It's probably just the RNG rolling undesired patterns when selecting attacks.

@ the sprite, you working on a white background has caused you to use colors that are far too bright. I recommend using a very neutral background of some sort. The most frustrating thing about that game was never being able to save. Maybe with just that change, it would be not the worst Final Fantas...

I always thought it was random, but it'll be really enlightening to know if that isn't the case.

The one thing I didn't enjoy were the unusually dark and realistic cutscenes that look fresh out of a murder drama on TV. They're so different from the rest of the video, it's a little unnerving. I am a very emo and unstable person. As a video, my main complaint is that you let scenes fly by too qu...

I usually use next box, even for scripts (since you can prevent the player from advancing text boxes if you need to anyway).

The Single-Segment Speedrun on SDA had to rig encounters for money, getting an Undead battle formation whenever he could. If you want to make money for Pures with minimal stopping points, do exactly that.

You can easily fight one more battle for Pure money. Do you just not stop for anything?

Actually, when I suggested to stock up on Antidotes in FF1, I didn't mean get up to 99. You actually only need around 10 for the Marsh Cave, and 10 or 20 more for the rest of the game. From what I know of DW games, characters actually learn spells that cure Poison at very little MP cost, so inventor...

I've played and beaten (and master run) FF1 dozens of times, it's one of my favorite games. But poison (and stun, too) is still one of the major things I worry about whenever I go through it again. It's nothing like other games where you can nonchalantly buy 99 antidotes and then forget about poiso...

The first time you encounter poison in FF1 is nearly impossible to deal with. All of the enemies in that stupid cave poison you when they hit you, and it's basically guaranteed to kill your guys during that battle or on the way back. And yeah right having money to pay for the healing - always my le...

It's been several days since I've played due to various stuff, but now I'm back to FF1 again. This episode actually spans two days since I've been really tired lately. I go and get WARP, then go to the river that leads to the Waterfall. I end up fighting a WzOGRE encounter along the way, which would...

I'm kind of hung up on difficulty. Should I keep the traditional need for lots of grinding, or should the battles be quick and easy? Given the size of Dragon Quest as a reference, and how long Dragon Quest takes to finish, how long would you prefer that a similar game takes to finish? DW1 is pretty...

I listened to a recorded of the MP3 last night. Thank you for positive comments, but the graphics are far from perfect and I expect at least one person to criticize them once the game comes out.

JSH forgot to point out that there are portraits in the status screen.

This will be another semi-short day. Billy Lee walks about the Castle of Ordeals, looking about at all of the statues as the three look for the TAIL. People that appear frightened in their moment of being crafted. Zorlack has stayed behind, looking at the collection of items in the front of the cast...
