There are some things darker than Dr. Cube in the world of Kaiju Big Battel: Fighto Fantasy. In each of the game's zones are hidden encounters with a mysterious cult trying to revive something wicked. What could it be? How can they be stopped? https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pGxw6Lp0peM/WcKJdQTHFOI/AAAAA...

They've definitely got their roots in the same sort of retro bubble head/wind up toy robot design, though I'm not sure who the original grandpa robot that inspired the look was!

High praise, thanks! The hacking stages have actually been a really nice break from the main game. They're not overly complicated puzzles, but they combine elements that I've improved on from both Horse Game and Ghost's Towns. I hope they're appropriately spooky!

Great stuff, I'm not sure why Walthros is doing well but it gets about 100 downloads a month through the Amazon app store. In comparison, Horse Game's had 200 total, C. Kane's had 10, Ghost's Towns 70.

Slo Feng takes things a little more leisurely than other heroes. All of his abilities take 1-3 turns to charge up, but when they hit, they land some serious damage! Using him successfully involves careful planning, with other heroes buffing up his strength while he's charging. For the convenience of...

The thing is... even if you have your full 15 people, you can still have a tough time in combat, because if you die with those 4 you still lose. At the end of combat if a hero got KO'ed, they come out with 1 HP. It's a feature I've put in since Batman & Robin and put in MTA and it worked out gr...

Party size matters and difficulty matters. If you've got a game with eight characters, running some dungeons twice to find extra stuff isn't a big deal. If you're going to have like 15, being able to swap any time will make it a lot smoother for the player, because there's no way I'd be willing to r...

I believe this is done via the use of chaining attacks, and use of the bitset "show attack name"? Yeah, I just link stat moves to moves with names like Attack Up and show the attack name. It would be nice to be able to pick the color of font for damage though! Make it really stand out fro...

That's strange. You didn't use the --no-native-kbd flag, did you? You didn't attach anything. Whoops, looks like we can't attach .TXT files to posts then. I'll send it over via email when I get home from work today. Only flag used was the input debug one. If I remember correctly, the stuck key bug ...

Thanks. Unfortunately I already attempted the obvious fix for the white border and it didn't work. Actually, I just remembered that there is something you can do to help figure out the key-repeat problem: run custom.exe (with gfx_sdl) with the --input-debug commandline flag, and then post c_debug.t...

Is there currently an easy way to have a menu remember what the player last selected? If I've got a list of 20 menu items, I don't want the player to have to scroll back through them all repeatedly.

However, I just tested on Win XP, and had no problem with key repeat. Maybe it's an SDL bug which only affects recent Windows versions. Weird, we do enable key repeat, it works absolutely everywhere else, and Windows versions are highly compatible with each other. Key repeating is working correctly...

A text input bug in Custom: I can no longer hold down a key to enter text, first noticed on the space bar but it looks like it's true of all keys.

Weirdly, you can still hold Alt + Shift + whatever to continuously input special characters, it just isn't working on regular ones.

That all sounds really cool! Do you find the default font hard to read because of the proportions? The text colour? Hard to say, but 3x zoom is comfortable to me, while 2x has me straining a little. It's a bigger font than my web browser and I don't have a problem there, so it's not just the size. C...
