Well, JSH and I played a bit last night. The one-on-one's were fine, but once we got three people going there were some lag issues. Frequent but not constant. I don't really understand it. This game's netcode is absolutely, ridiculously bad. I have a really hard time playing it online after spendin...

EDIT: Oh that's right! I was sure there was some falling out, and I remember what it is now: <a href="http://www.castleparadox.com/ohr/viewtopic.php?t=5105&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0">Squall got way too serious on us and left in a huff.</a> I got a lot of crap from him o...

Aside from the reviews, I'm basing the "it stinks!" part off of conversations with people and with its incredibly poor average rating.

Also: I'd like to see some kind of huge project being worked on by like half the community if possible. lets say 2-3 people working scripting, 2-3 people working on graphics, 1-2 on music. 1-2 on odd jobs. I think this could really bring the community together. It's a good idea, but it's been tried...

Surlaw, would you be interested in having me document the making of some graphics in Genesis for Hamsterspeak? like, i have a pretty large town coming up that i will be starting on soon. i could take screenshots throughout the process and write up a little article explaining what was going through ...

I was actually going to do this for the May issue but I have never played the Non-Special Edition so I didn't really think it would be a complete review. I'll give a first-timers reaction if you want but this might defeat the purpose seeing as how there are already two reviews written for the old v...

If no one else has any legitimate game requests, I'd be happy to see a review of Gato Sucio Special Edition.

This is why when I change people's names on my forum, they're related to their original name. I get confused too :( Other Surlaw confessions: -I really don't like Super Walrus Man. I keep bringing him back because I know other people like him, but I'm honestly bored of the character, at least the Wa...

-I refuse to learn new plotscripting syntax and I'm resistant to indentation. This is me. I've sent scripts to people before when I've needed some help it and drove at least a couple of them nuts. My scripts are a mess, but they're totally readable by me, and I guess that's what matters most. I use...

Re: OHR Confessional

That blending feature needs to be enabled by default. That'll go a long ways towards improving the presentation of most OHR games. I'm pretty sure that Surlaw promised to flay me with a dull knife if I ever did that. (or something like that. My memory is rusty ;) I totally would, smoothing filters ...

Number-based grading is only good for mass rating systems (something like the game list here) where multiple users are weighing in and trying to form an "average" score. In reviews it usually sounds way too negative/positive. You can't give something a 5/10 and still give the impression t...

In this day and age (what with all this high-speed interneting and tetra-biting) I don't think it is that big of an issue having a large game file. The file for Marooned is pushing 30MB right now. I hope that doesn't dissuade people from downloading it. It's a bit of a pain for you, but you could a...
