You are a genius. EDIT: So, I am now seeing that none of the GUI default colors are in the ramp that Foxley replaced with orange, so by using this palette, you will not need to change any interface defaults. This is great, and I think I might make it my default master palette. Thanks a bunch, dude. ...

These graphics are not mine, but I felt like sharing this for reasons other than showing off. For placeholder graphics (and also a guide for my own sprites later) I imported Crono's sprites from Chrono Trigger using Neo's palette. I remember a thread where Neo discussed the intention of the current ...

Kylekrack: Thanks for the feedback! The biggest complaint I've gotten from players so far is the difficulty of the enemies in the desert. I made them harder in order to promote taking advantages of the Mayor's abilities (such as the elemental magic books you can get from the merchant in Castle Town...

Hey, so I played up into the desert, where I got humiliated by the enemies there. Overall, I love where the game is going so far and I look forward to further installations. My biggest complaints are with enemy difficulty and the imbalance of the dagger. The enemies in the beginning were far too eas...

@Mammothstuds: Might want to make a separate thread for discussion about your game so the feedback never gets lost. I imagine there will be many more updates to come in the next few months.

set sprite set number (lookup slice(sl:walkabout sprite component, get npc slice(NPC reference(22))), record) Something where you lookup the NPC's walkabout sprite and then change it using 'set sprite set number' might work? I ...

Other people have done things like this. Froginator was working on one a short while ago.

The Mac version is working just fine for me. I just opened and ran a couple of games that used heavy plotscripting and everything went well. Is there anything specific you would like me to do in order to test it thoroughly?

One way to handle the balance could potentially be to use the weakness of the main character to balance combat in the beginning. The level 1 husband with no combat experience is the weakness. Yes, the wife could trample through the low level enemies effortlessly, but if she has to constantly protec...

Don't know what changes we could make. The compilation list seems to be doing its job of keeping us from dog-piling every demo that comes out. Sometimes people still seem afraid of being reviewed/writing reviews and I don't know how to make that less intimidating. Since you mention that, I think yo...

On my end, I'm starting on the enemy sprites for my HotOHR game. It's going to have an enemy rank system in place, and instead of just using palette swaps to signify enemies getting stronger, I went with something slightly different [s]if only because it let me keep on adding onto a sprite instead ...

Oh fascinating. I will definitely start drawing backdrops at 4x size from now on. I did something similar with the last portrait sprites I drew, but I also used pictures of paper drawings I made.

Thanks for sharing your methods.

@Pheonix: Beautiful palettes at work there. Do you have a master palette you usually stick to or do you design them uniquely from game to game?
