Higher bitdepth has been the plan for such a long time (Jay was working on it years ago). I'm terrible at prioritising important stuff :( Speaking of higher bit depth, I just though of another neat feature that may become possible once a higher bit depth is used in the engine. What I've always want...

Oh, you actually use multiple master palettes? That's almost unheard of. Do you keep part of the master palette the same for use by hero sprites? Or do you have multiple versions of all the sprites too? Higher bitdepth has been the plan for such a long time (Jay was working on it years ago). I'm te...

Remind me; if you're still editing your backdrops as 20x20 pieces does that mean that what you actually want is larger tilesets? Well yes. Larger tilesets would be nice. For my purposes they'd have to be sufficiently larger so as to give a lot of creative freedom. If this is a feature you were goin...

I know the newest nightly had some features related to this, which I discovered too late in the process to really test, but one issue with backdrops right now is transparency. For the Review Picker, I had a lot of black backdrops with an 80x50 "transparent" hole in the middle, which also ...

Personally I use Backdrops to make fullscreen animations both with and without transparency. I also draw and import backdrops from Photoshop which interconnect to create a very large map. The reason I do this is to create maps which have little to no repetition, thus making my games maps more organi...

I'll just PM ya. Oh, and take your turn in the arena. Even so, I'm interested in seeing what comes of this. I'd totally want this feature so I don't have to import anything from photoshop. It would also save me from having to make 20x20 grids in photoshop and adjusting my palettes to match that of ...

Some quick and easy possible problems to check in custom: -make sure the wallmap is correct, so that the NPC can walk down the ladder -make sure the NPC9 has a non-zero walking speed -make sure there are no other copies of NPC9 anywhere on the map If none of these are the issue, we might need to se...

Problem Animating NPC

I am currently trying to animate an NPC so he looks like he walks a bit, then climbs down a ladder. I want it to look like the NPC mounts the ladder when he touches it, so I am using two NPC's in my script, one of which is the "walking NPC sprite set" and the other which is the "climb...

Speaking of butts, I lost track of that thread where you were hosting a contest for the best fart game. I think only Meowskivich and I entered but wondered if it was still going on, as well as your ultimate review of both games.

I'M UP FOR HIRE! I can do your graphics for you: Why would I do that: As of lately, I have had plenty of time to work on my game. I have been focusing mainly on coding since the graphics will come later. As a result of this I am getting very anxious to practice making graphics. Thus I have decided ...

Another great artist is Yoshitaka Amano ( http://amano-artwork.tumblr.com/ ). I'm sure everyone's heard of him but maybe not seen all his art. He's the guy that did all the Final Fantasy art. He must've done some Castlevania work, too. Great stuff. Oh yes, I guess he's pretty famous for that too.
