Even though I like "felsenmeer," both the name and the spirit of it, and even though I think it would make a great codename, "fufluns" just *sounds* like an OHR codename. I say flip a coin. Either would work.

I remember the hero of the game was named Leonard Shaw, and his suit of armor basically looked like he was a giant can with limbs and a head. I don't remember the name of the game itself off the top of my head. I wondered why the text strings were replaced with random unimplemented status effects i...

I've been learning the value of using more globals and templates and fewer "handcrafted" scripts, too. Heavy work at the beginning saves a ton of time down the road. We all need to learn this fine art.

I like the dog. Good dog.

Fnrrf Ygm Schnish: Alleghany Hell School is still in production, despite how rarely I've posted anything about it on here. Currently the plan is for the first demo version to be ready to upload on October 22nd (why the 22nd? because that's the day the first parts of the game take place on. XD) For ...

Declassified Report and Video for FYS:AHS

On October 22, 2003, a high school in Virginia experienced an event so unusual that the student body had no choice but to learn something that day, and that something involved a crash course in many unconventional lessons, including bug extermination, dungeon diving, power restoration, and robot tam...

Dang! Fufluns is awesome! It's gonna take some good suggestions to top that one! Looks like MorpheusKitami might be 2 for 2. He suggested "etheldreme." Maybe it's time to designate him the official engine namer: we can call him the "naming laureate." I don't know, just a thought...

Hey Valkayree, Good to see you back here again. Your games were pretty solid despite the OHR's many limitations back in the day, and it'll be interesting to see what you can pull off with the engine's current features. I wanted to chime in quickly to let you know that since 2010, we've been doing a ...

Okay, so I've been fixing the scripts to become easier to maintain over time. I'm more than halfway through, and I'm currently updating a massively wacko script called "Install Equipment," which is the script that manages coffee equipment installation and usage, and, if you've ever seen th...

Article: Pricing Games, A Discussion

In the early days of the OHR, nobody but the creator of Fat Frog considered putting a price tag on their games. In the modern era, however, with higher quality products and dedicated sales channels for independent game designers (Steam, Humble Bundle, etc.) becoming more common, as well as a new age...

Yes, I'm working on a mode where it plays a duck sound on each step. +2 I mentioned this privately when I tested the demo earlier, but it's worth mentioning again in public to rally support: Another engine thing that needs requesting that would help make this game even more awesome (especially if W...

@TMC That Cartesian Product looks super useful. Thanks for sharing that (and finding it). I'll have to give it a try the next time I implement another major redundant block of global variables. I think I do mention Excel somewhere in the description. I know I wrote it somewhere. But yeah, I could pr...
