Well, the speed should be divisible by 20, ideally (1,2,4,5,10,20,40,etc.), but besides that, your coordinates puts the camera too close to the map's edge. Anything under 7 is gonna give you problems. Try setting your focus to (8,8) and see if that works. If you must set it for (5,4), then you'll wa...

Ah, I knew there was a reason why I should've tested GAME.EXE. Guess it's time to download RC3. Neospade, I didn't see any palette garbage when I full-screened. I'm running XP 32-bit. EDIT: Not sure if this was reported yet, but some of my sound effects files were corrupted. Not all, or even some, b...

In the tileset editor, mark/clone decided to stop remembering its stamped location after 20-30 uses. I'm guesstimating, of course. It was working fine for awhile, but now I can't get it to remember where I left the marked piece before changing tiles to set the new clone down. It keeps returning to t...

No, you came back just in time. Developers are talking about releasing Zenzizenzic very soon.

How close to the quake were you? Seems like the whole world is rumbling these days. Makes one glad to live in hurricane alley.

Nathan, if you do a lousy enough job, I think I'm gonna have to recruit you for a similar prize in next year's Heart of the OHR contest. This is brilliant.

I'd like to keep Tightfloss Maiden off the ballot until I either finish it, or until I at the very least update it with a couple more chapters. Neither is likely to happen before Heart of the OHR 2012.

Wow, the thread that brought TMC out of hiding and onto Slime Salad. What a historical moment. You should feel honored, Ninja. This moment was a long time coming and will never happen again.

On the contrary, I think it's better to start scripting as soon as possible so that you grasp the concept of how to use it at the same speed as you would in learning how to develop maps and NPCs. That way you can never be uncomfortable with trying to plot your ideas. You also gain a better understan...

A few issues of HamsterSpeak have sprite packs (and I believe some tilesets) that are free to use. I couldn't tell you offhand which ones, but then exploration is part of the fun, isn't it? Ctrl+J jiggles the current layer. You'll find this feature incredibly useful once you start working with three...

About time! Don't give up, Batman! (And don't feel bad about starting it in 2006 and still having only a fraction to show for it. All of my unreleased games are several years older than that. But yeah, try to finish the thing. It's a great game.) A note to the community: Let's spur RMZ on. HotOHR 2 ...

This is the type of thread that will be beneficial to new users five years from now, and should therefore be stickied, or moved into a special "Articles" category.

Best article on graphics I've read in a long time. Even better than Djfenix's article about base sizes for buildings ( http://superwalrusland.com/ohr/issue27/arch/arch.html ). I like the idea of turning this into a discussion, but I would also suggest that if some good comments come out of this disc...

Just out of curiosity, if we have a button to import scripts, and we have a button to export hsi data, why don't we have a button to export scripts? They're clearly stored in the game, otherwise they would never run, right? I mean, we have the ability to export textbox data. What's stopping this fro...
