how about having a difficulty variation switch at the start? more loot, tougher foes. that sort o' thing. can't really think much different than the hordes of planned dungeons for AR-PUH-GUH! and another game o' mine.

That's actually rather easy for me to write upon, seeing how I've been doing almost only that with my game in recent times. It's rather simple and require guess and checking in some cases, but I'll save the details for the article.
